A friend and I are looking at a 1967 Minneapolis-Moline G1000 diesel at a local dealer. I spoke to the previous owner and they seem to have taken great care of it. After driving it, I have a few concerns (besides the fact that it might be hard to find parts for).
It's sometimes hard to get into or out of gear. The clutch seems strong, so could it just need adjusted? How hard is it to do?
The PTO shaft is always spinning ever so slowly. I haven't tried to grab it to try and stop it, nor have we hooked up anything to it. Are those plates difficult to change? Are they hard to find/expensive? Could it be something else?
What should the pressure be at the hyd remotes? They said they'd test it for me, but weren't sure what the proper pressure should be.
Amplitorque seemed to work. Tach and a few other guages don't work. Lights don't work.
Anything else prone to breaking on these that I should pay particular attention to?
They're asking $5900.
Thanks!
