Price Check Generalized TN Pricing

The price seems in line for the cash side. When you say financed are you just adding in the finance charges to the cash price or are they actually charging you more just to finance the tractor?

Hi Robert:

The "finance" price is the sale price if you go with New Holland's financing options. Mostly, I think it's a way to offset the low APR. Spencer200 can probably address that better than anyone.

There should be no price difference for the 33la they are priced the same.

That financed price would be about right the dealer has to participate in the financing during value bonanza that is going on now. thru nomvember 15th. The cost to the dealer is about $2500.00 dollars.

As you may know, I work on NH for a living. I think $1200 for the powershuttle is a bargain, and should be sold as standard equipment. No dry clutch or forward/ reverse synchronizers to wear out, great onboard diagnostics, and virtually troublefree electronics. A must for loader applications. Wet clutches can be easily re-calibrated over time to account for the minimal wear in the clutch packs. The cost of the option won't pay for a clutch job on a manual shuttle tractor.

Jay,

There should be no difference between the financed and the cash price in my opinion. I base this on the fact that when I bought my machine my dealer did not quote the price based on cash. Maybe this was a special deal back in april?

I think the $28,520 is a good price. Also the 32LA price is comparable to what I paid.

I have the mechanical shuttle and like it very much.

Sounds like the same deals the auto mfgs are always making

$3000 cash back OR 2.9% financing etc. etc. etc. They simply neglected to spell out the 3,000 cash back part because they want the finance business.

You need to do the math to see if you can borrow the money cheaper. Ie take the lower cash price & get a loan from elsewhere. You may or may not be able to.

A few things to reply to...

The financing isn't as clear as it should be, like the auto manufacturers do. I'm in the finance industry and understand the "effective" rate they're charging. Not a very good deal. Also, with the way they're marketing it, I'm not sure it's completely legal.

Anyway, I drove a used TN75S on Saturday a little bit. This was lease return from MODOT. It was actually a 2000 model, returned in 2001, that has sat on a lot in St. Joseph since the lease deal was too good, and thus, the residual was way too high. Had only 508 hours. NH cut some money out of the residuals so dealers would buy them and sell them, and my dealer picked up (2) of them. One has been sold, and the other is still available with a new 33LA loader they stuck on it.

This was a cab model, 4WD, with the 8x8 PowerShuttle. Holy cow -- is that power shuttle slick! It's as smooth as any hydrostat, and not having to "clutch" is really nice. About the only complaint I had was that it seemed a bit slow to activate between forward and reverse. In a tight spot, that might be a concern, but probably is simple enough to adapt to. The cab is plenty roomy, and the noise level is pretty good. The controls seem a bit scattered about on the dash, over on the right hand console, on one of the cab pillars, etc... The SuperSteer was just as effective as on my little 29D. You can make some tight turns with that thing, but it's somewhat offset by the increased wheelbase. The auto FWD and clutch are nice though, as is the automatic front axle braking. Man, that 33LA loader is LONG when you look out over it from the cab. Engine was very torque-y -- lots of power. Couldn't hear the turbo a bit, but also was just running around in it with no load. Clutch was very smooth, with good control. Loader hydraulics were very quick. Air ride seat was super comfy. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Overall, a very nice machine.

OK, enough rambling comments. Barring any immediate sale, I think I'll rent it for a Saturday in the upcoming weeks. Run it around, see how it fits in some of the tight spots. See how it handles some of the grades and inclines [somewhat of a concern I have given the added height and subsequent center-of-gravity elevation]. At the very least, it will be fun for a day, and I can make a more educated decision. Thanx for listening!

Best Regards,
Jay

Earlier this year, I was interested in a TN75 (w/o cab), loader with quick detach (Bobcat), 3 extra remotes, power shuttle (which worked the nuts!/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif), loaded rears, 7’ HD bucket as pictured…

I was ultimately quoted $31,200… I didn’t care what price they started with… I was interested in the “finished price” with my JD as a trade… /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Well, the bottom line is the dealer thought his Blue tractor was Gold and my Deere was just plain green…/w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif so we never struck up a deal…

I had seen this tractor similarly equipped somewhere in Texas for about $26k… so pricing was all over the map…

Tomorrow’s another day though… /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Hi John:

Interesting pic. The area looks alot like my NH dealer. Ironically, we run a Ford 7710 [with cab] up on the farm. Reliable tractor.

Anyway, thinking more about this, I do have to point out that the digital dash on the cab models was pretty lame. I mean, why do I need an hour meter with numerals about 2in high on an LCD screen? And the tach is this really lame bar at the top of the screen. The other things I noticed was that it's really jam-packed under the hood, when you account for the turbo & AC plumbing.

The dealer was very upfront in telling me that the majority of the TN tractor is super reliable, but they have problems with little stuff. He said they almost never work on the engines, tranmissions or axles, but replace alot of fuel senders, find linkages rusted together from the factory, and that the AC components are only "automotive" quality. He said NH has gotten better about that stuff over the last year or so, but I appreciate him being honest.

Like you, I'm finding pricing is all over the board. There's another NH dealer not too far away that has a special on a TN75 4x4, no cab, 8x8 mechanical shuttle & 8ft mower for $22K. They only have (1), but I still can't figure out how they got the price down there. I've looked at the JD 5000 series, but the cab seemed smaller & while I like the Yanmar engines, I don't like the Stanydyne rotary injection pump versus the inline model that NH uses on the Iveco engines. Rotary pumps are simpler, but less robust, and we've had our fair share worked on over the years in our tractors and combines. Unfortunately, while there are some things I like about the JD's, in my area the dealer are convinced that green paint has 24K gold primer underneath. Funny how different regions yield different results in this regard.

Best Regards,
Jay
