Has anyone used this harbor freight generator head http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=45416

or ther northern head? http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=6970&productId=21008&R=21008

The northern head says for horizontal application, what plane of the generator is horizontal? the base plate or the body? It also says it turns clockwise or counter clockwise. I take that to mean power is generated no matter what way I turn the generator shaft?

Any easy way to get a vertical shaft motor to drive a horizontal shaft device? Any right angle differentials that are cost effective for this type of application?

The shaft should be horizonal, and CW and CCW does mean that it will make power in both directions.
