In a pinch I've had good luck with my Honda 5000 generator. Could be the extra 20% increase in power is enough to make a difference.

I wish I'd have gone to a 5 KW instead of 4. Our place is located at high elevation, ~5000' which robs power. Besides, even though my generator says 4 KW, thats surge, so its really 3500 watts, LESS the altitude loss. Do the math, say 30V at the arc at ~75 amps = ~2200 watts not counting power factor or other losses. Thats close to max output I figure for my machine.
