Hey Bob and thanks for your help with my decision. I got a question for you. When do dealers offer cash rebates to clear out inventory ? What month ? Cause I thought it might be like auto's but no I was wrong. I've got time to wait if waiting is worth $$$.

Dealers, I'm lucky I have plenty of Orange, Green, & now Red
Wasn't sure I was going to find Red but the CAT dealer has it.

Thanks for your information as well as your questions. All my Dealers Orange, Green, & Red all three have 3 Dealers w/ 50 miles & 6 w/ 100 miles.

I've never been to parts dept or service dept at any tractor dealership, would not know what they charge. This is my first tractor. This is one of the reason I want to buy new, for the warranty. What ever they charge I hope it's certainly less than what the Marine Dealerships here charge for Boats.

BOAT-- stands for--- BUST OUT ANOTHER THOUSAND !!!

I'm sure TRACTOR -- stands for something similiar maybe I won't find out until warranty expires....

I agree with you of dreaming of A/C and maybe it might occcur and I see you too are from the school of "OPM"
It's much easier when we spend " OTHER PEOPLES MONEY ".

Thanks

Take a look at the 400 series Massey. They are heavy basic ag tractors with proven transmissions/engines. They were the best hp/$ in my area.

In my area the M6800 runs around $2000.00 more than the M5700.

I would like to see what the replacements for the M's have to offer. But if the incentive on the M's were good I might not. I would like to see if they moved the shifter from between the legs to the side like the JD.

Most of the information on the ones I am looking at I have in my head, most likely not a good idea and should do a speard sheet /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif But I have brochures and specs printed from web sites and compare those. I travel alot and usually stop once or twice a week to look at those I am considering.

My problem is I want buy until the "need " factor is great. I have a couple of machines that are meeting my current needs. However I know the need for utility size is fast approching. So unless there is a good incentive or "rebate" in the near future it will most likely be 6-18 months before I buy.

I purchased the JD 5205 a couple of months ago for $25000..So far the only things I like about it is the 4wd & telescoping arms..Has a great paint job though..It does not have enough low speed gears and you cannot shift on the go..The ony syncromesh is between forward & reverse in low range (A)..The 3 cyl engine is noisy..I also looked at the Kubota 4900 and decided against it because of the "OLD STYLE" look & feel and heard rumors they were being phased out..I am considering moving up to the 5X25 series..

<font color="blue"> You also said you like the M6800, ok I have not priced this animal yet, what's it going for w/ loader ?

Unless you do not have any dealer close to you, I think you should check out the Kioti DK65.

Ok.. I didn't read any of the replies.. so if this is a 'restate'.. sorry.

With 52 ac.. I think you deffinately need 50+ hp... lets you step into a 10' mower if need be. Also gets you a heavy tractor to help with logs.. and big implements.

Don't be afraid of a low hours used unit.. even in the ag tractor range.. it's a good way to save $ and get more hp. I bought my 2002 NH 7610s with 700 hrs on it.. and a crumpled fender...still had some warranty on it. Dealer made me an awesome deal on it.. thousands off, an dthe tractor was in 100% operable condition.. just had cosmetic damage.

I'm a NH / Ford guy.. mainly.. so that is where the bulk of my experience lies.

Another option is to get a large CUT and a used ag tractor.. say a 35 hp new one.. with the bells and whistles.. and then a 70-150 hp brute for the heavy work. Ag tractors around here go for 4000$ and up.. things like ford 5/6/7/8xxx models.. TW series.. case 1xxx series.. MF 1xxx series.. etc..

Probably just as cheap, or cheaper to go that route, than new big tractor..course.. things like a tc55 / tn60 / tn 90 ts110 are nice looking units

Don't be afraid of non-big 3 brands if sold by a good dealer. for instance.. my NH ddealer sells mahindra.. I like my dealer and know he has good service.. I wouldn't be afraid to buy a mahindra from him.. vs a "we have these today' pop up seller.. etc.

Right now there's a new Farm Pro 8240 listed on ebay for $16,500. Brand new, 2 year warranty or 2000 hours. This tractor is an 82 hp Pekins turbo diesel, cab, AC & heat, with a Koyker 310 loader you can probably have the tractor delivered for $24,500. You can call the dealer and talk all you want about service and the tractor. The tractor without FEL nets at about 8,250 lbs. Any of the known paint job tractors would be at least 2x that price. The Mahindra 7010 cab with loader is about $34,500.

Hope you find what you're looking for.

I think the -at least 2x- is quite a bit of a stretch. You can get NH units in the 80/90hp range, with loader.. for well under 50K$ brand new...
