Ron,

I wasn't at the Texas get together you all had (did that sound Texan?? ), although I sure wish I could've been! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I just wanted to throw a plug in for giving up that smoking thing. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I did it just about 4 years ago after smoking for about 33 years. Best thing I've ever done. I did it with the patches. It was a snap! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif And I've never felt better. And think of all the cool tractor stuff you could buy with the money you save! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

You won't regret it. Good luck and get well soon. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Ron, sorry to hear about the stroke. It sounds as if it was a relatively minor one (if there is such a thing) and for that we thank God. Do any physiotherapy recommended and take your medication faithfully. Buddy, we need you in this world, not the next. Take ****** good care of yourself. You owe it to your friends (us) and loved ones.

Ron, it always seems like we operate on the "edge," and when things start happening, they keep up for awhile. You've had a run of bad luck with your son almost getting hurt on the rings and now your minor stroke. I also think you should widen your "balance beam" by giving up the smokes. It's a struggle in the beginning, but soon you'll wonder why you didn't do it long ago. I smoked for 29 years and gave it up "cold turkey" about 6 years ago. It sure improved my luck! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I hope you are feeling better, especially since I'm a little late to this thread. I want you to come over to my place in April and help us catch some catfish. Take care of yourself and good luck no matter what. We are all pullin' for you. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Get well soon Ron!

Anyone who can stand next to a hot forge in the Texas heat with long pants on is TOUGH.

This afternoon I was in the area and dropped in on Ron. I had his TBN bridge rock to deliver and I wanted to see him up close and personal.

Good news: He looks great. Having a little trouble with forming his words but after what he's been through, nothing but a thing. I also suspect a cute speech therapist is impeding his recovery. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Bad news: He's getting to be a lot like me. He has a problem keeping a train of thought going. I've been like that it seems forever. No attention span, me and that have been joined at the hip since time began.

Seriously he looks and sounds good. But what made me feel best was to see that big smile when he saw me. I would never have thought an old ugly mug like that could make me warm all over with just a smile. But his did.

He's been keeping up with us but not feeling up to replying.

I'd bet he'll be at Jim's place this April with the rest of us.

And if you're checking out the sky any time soon for a star to wish upon I suggest you consider wishing for a wife like Sue. She's been a trooper through all this.

Just an update on a good member going through a bad time.

Ron,
We never met, but my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. My mother had a stroke on 911 and it laid her up pretty good. I have to tell you that today you would never know she had one. She can talk, walk, and doesn't have the drooping lip any more. Take the therapy and your meds. They definately work. I wish you and yours the best and a Happy New Year.
