You would think I would recognize phonics but I kept looking at it as being an acronym.

Etc.

Zoom, you and I are just getting old I reckon. I can't say that I understand this "text messaging" talk either. I instant message my grandkids almost every day and that's what they use all the time. They seem to understand it easy enough. Personally, I find that it's reduced the speed of my reading down to that of my two fingered typing.

Hickchick05, welcome to the board. As for dairy farms, there are plenty around here. I've never been too interested in it though ... 'way too hard of a way to make a living.

Look at all those abbreviations.

I recognize about 5 or 10 of them, most of which date back to my earlier years (ie. snafu).

I know one place I'd hate to work.
Wherever these are used in the IS department of a military hospital.
You would have to know 4 different languages (whatever this is called and acronyms used in I/S, the military and in hospitals). just to write an e-mail. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Heck, I still don't know what most of the faces generated from using keys on the keyboard mean when I get them.

Well my parents lived in town but I pretty much lived and worked on dairy farms most of my life. Yes morning and night I milked cows both in parlors and stanchions(think thats how you spell it). Can't say I miss the milking part at all but always loved being on the farm.

I check out other forums as well, and some of the things is hard to decipher. On thing that kinda bothers me is when someone say they have been pwned. Why spell it with a p?

Another thing I like about this place is that we can say things without any negative conotations being added. If I said I was looking for a used hoe in good condition on another forum, I'd probably be banned from the forum! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

BB-TX; Couldn't pull up the site you referred to. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I'm married to an RN. Betwwen Latin, medical terms, and acronyms, I usually get lost. One thing I've always meant to do is to write an entire presentation using only acronyms. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gifThat way, when someone asks what that means, I can look at them like they're the stupid one, instead of the other way around. I use them on here, but at least "WE" know what they mean. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Haha- Well, if i go to Virginia Tech, I will be majoring in Dairy Science....Louisville, probably business management....Kentucky, agribusiness. I want to go to Virginia Tech, it's closer to home and I visited and loved it...but Louisville and Kentucky are looking at offering me a full scholarship for cheerleading so I'm going where ever will be cheaper...Luckily though Virginia Tech I can get in state tuition for because UMD and them have some cooperative thing that anyone that majors in Dairy Science at VT that lives in MD gets in state...sorry about the ppl...yeah it's people young persons typing!! there aint many young people at this site are there?! I found it trying to look up a price for a tractor my dad is trying to sell...
