Well, I went in to get the CK20 today and I ended up with a CK25. Probably overkill for 2.5 acres but I think I got a good deal and I couldn't pass it.
.

Congratulations Albi, I think you made a wise choice. Bet you can't wait until you get it home. Good Luck.

Thanks all, You're right I can't wait. I'm trying to read the manual to get acquainted but it's hard without the tractor and all of it's levers next to you.

Bad thing is that I'll get it tomorrow, but I probably won't get to play with it much until next weekend.

Work Sux!

Congratulations and welcome to the world of Kioti.
Remember, that word is only to be used on here and never with-in earshot of the DW.

Well, I changed my mind. Lost a full night of sleep over it. Going to get the CK20HSt instead. The main reason is the weight of the CK25. I have a septic tank with a drainfield in the front of the house and I need to mow the grass over both. I am worried that the extra 1000 lbs of the CK25 will cause damage, especially to the septic tank. Since I don't know where the exact location of the tank is, I can't just mow around it. I may regret this decision but I'm still getting a really nice tractor in the CK20HST.

So when do you take delivery of the 20? When do we get to see pics in action? :)
I just got word my financing is approved, I just need to get back to Maine, which won't be until Wed, to sign papers and then off to pay for my CK30. :D Still working out delivery details with seller, my truck won't pull the 30, it would have the CK20. The wait is killing me!!

If mowing is a major task for you new tractor, then the CK20 is much better suited for that purpose. The CK25 is too big and too heavy for finish mowing. If you are getting a loader, make sure it's the new style.

Thanks,

Mowing is going to be about 60% of my work. I also have about 8 truckloads of dirt that I need to move in order to finish grading the back of my yard. I also have about 1.5 acres that are wooded and although I am not clearing it I want to clean it up. There are some trees that need to be knocked down. These are pine trees no bigger than 3 to 6 inches in diameter. With the difference in price I can get a 7x18 7000lb trailer.

Thanks
Albi

Thanks

I finish mow with a DK 35 and a 7' mower. No problem with the weight, It does a fine job. I mow right over top of my septic tanks.
We use both our tractors for mowing the lawn. The JD 850 w/mid mount mower ( rear tires not loaded) weighs under 3000#. My DK 35 w/rear finish mower (and loaded rear tires) weighs well over 4000#. I never notice any differance at all between the 2 as far as weight damage to the lawn.

Thanks for the input DK. So here's the question, I can get the CK25HST for $1500 more than the CK20HST. If I get the CK20, I can get a 7000# tandem axle trailer for $1500.

Thanks
Albi

I think either machine will work out fine on 2.5 acres.
If you want/need a trailer or not may be the tie breaker.
