Getting gravel back on my lane

IMO if a drive is flat enough that grass or other live plant-life does not cause issues...not that much gravel is required anyway...the amount of traffic is a major factor...

Grass on drives with more than gentle inclines is like ice...

Another approach if you're rebuilding or starting out is a geo-grid (plastic) that holds the topsoil, for example: Grass Pavers Advantages - Turf Pavers Benefits We've used them a couple of times for side drives, and they hold up pretty well. Good prep is important, like all other drives, with gravel base and geotextile mat.

I have a Stihl Kombi system and I think i may give this "Powersweep" a try. I have read good things on some snow removal forums and it seems many contractors use these for spring gravel cleanup. I'll let ya know how it works.

STIHL - PowerSweep STIHL KW-KM

I have the Stihl power rake and can tell you it does work. It is not effortless however. It can wear you out if you have a lot to do (my drive is 1500' long). I made a set of wheels to support the "drum'' end that made a big difference. I think Stihl makes
a set of wheels now for it and I can recommend that, if they do.
After 5 years using the Stihl and developing my muscles, I now use a power broom mounted to the front of my tractor. Life is good!
I went back and looked at the video for the power rake (with the link from Coobie and JackFr) and it does seem to work very well and maybe better than the Stihl. When you operate the Stihl, since the drum is pushing back against you, it is a constant battle to keep the paddles at the correct height and continue moving forward.

Thanks Tru. I have 1320ft (1/4 mile) so i am sure i will get a (much needed) workout but i am betting the $160 will be well spent. I can probably find a few other uses as well.
