Getting manure to slide out of a dump trailer

This is what they use in dump trucks to help materials slide out. http://www.quadrantplastics.com/na-...tandard-175-f/quicksilver-R-truck-liners.html It is tough you could load your tractor on it. Not sure how much it would help with manure. I have a hard enough time with dirt sticking in my dump truck.

You could also try a cougar vibrator. These are used in a lot of dump trucks as well to help move sticky materials.Cougar(R) DC Truck Vibrator

Neither of the above are cheap. Cheapest solution would be line the bottom with wood shavings or hay as others mentioned.

Deck liner like in previous post. They clean well. BUT DON'T drop rock or broken concrete in them, it gouges pieces out.
If you update your trailer get a 55 degree tipping angle. The example you gave has a tipping angle of about 48-50 degrees. Just low enough to not clear. When I was truck driving the 55 degree tippers didn't have much problem with loads not clearing, but the 48 degree tipper had trouble on most loads as it only went the gravel shear angle,(point that any material will naturally fall) not past like the other trucks.
Alternatively can you change the hoist rams (extra stage) ?

My suggestion is to buy a bag of pelletized lime. Most ag and big lot stores sell it in 40 lb bags. Throw a couple of scoops of it in the bed prior to the manure and it will help "roll" the material out. More is probably better than less but a bag should do 3-4 loads. Let us know if it works.

I may be wrong but I don't think a 40 lb bag of anything is going to be enough to adequately cover the bed of a 7x20 trailer once much less 3-4 times.

This is not environmentally friendly but if you would spray the bed with diesel fuel just before you loaded it I'm thinking all the manure would slide out. We used to wipe the windows of the combine with a rag that had been soaked in diesel. Wiping the window every few days was enough to keep the dust from sticking to the window.

Those who would be horrified about the diesel and the environment can be comforted that soil microbes would clean up the small amount of diesel in short order.

If you have a decent loader, forget the dump trailer feature, pick up the trailer and dump the load by rolling it over. No big deal.

They used to mix diesel fuel with DDT around here to make "Brush Kill"

I would have thought that the dust would stick to the diesel treated window.

Years ago we were getting free loads of clay rich dirt for fill for free. I was using an excavator to clean the dump beds because the material would not slide out on it's own. Then an old guy walked up an said if you go get a couple bales of straw and just sprinkle one leaf in the bottom of each empty load the clay will slide right out. I did and it did. Never had to scrape the boxes again!

We discovered this quite by accident. Dad was quite angry at first but apologized a few days later when he noticed how clean the window stayed.

I like this idea the best. KISS.
