I have had my Bradco 485 frame-mounted backhoe on my Mahindra 4035 for about 6 months. Love the backhoe. But I was wondering how others with a similar setup get up on to their backhoe.
With the 485 on my very tall 4035 tractor, the 'platform' on to which I have to step up on to from the ground is between 24 and 30 inches off the ground. (Tractor is not close by so I cannot measure it.) It certainly helps being 6 foot 3, but I wonder if I am still going to be able to make the 'big step' in 5-10 years. As it is I grab the ROPS with my right hand and the bar on the console with my left hand while I take one really large step up on to the platform. Any suggestions? I'd love to hang a step on the BH, but I don't see where I could possibly mount it.

let one of you outriggers down before you get off the front

The 48 backhoe that I have on my 4120 has a small step on each side, just inside the outriggers.

I get off the tractor seat, grab the ROP and use the rear tire as a step to the backhoe seat. And then the same route back to the tractor seat.

Probably looks like a monkey in a tree ... don't care, works for me.

Maybe some sort of "fold-able pedal" somewhere, like on the rear of a motorcycle.
