Sorry to budge in on the maple chat,
but i heard if you use a high nitrogen fertalizer and put it on
the stump, then cover the stump with a black plastic bag it will rot the stump very very fast. I have a few i am going to try that too in a month or so. I think i will drill holes in the stump, put the fert on, and then maby douse it in Kerosene and burn it out. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
anyone else ever do this.

Amish do it this way, they just burry the stump in manor and let it sit for a year or two.
