Getting the garden ready

I started to germinate seeds a couple weeks ago...as soon as I finish clearing the trees I've cut (for more room/sun) I'll start cultivating etc...

I may take a gamble and plant some snow peas next week...

I hate you guys! My garden is under 30" of snow and ice and the frost is in the ground waaaaaay over 48". It's gonna be a long time before we get to the green ground stage .

I'm afraid that we will go from white to blue (as in flood waters) to brown (as in mud wide and deep) then green (as in weeds).

the weatherman says our frost is only 16 inches deep under our 38" - 42" of snow. He also says the frost is now 96" deep where the snow has been plowed. So once we get warm weather and this snow melts it may not take as long for the ground to thaw as last year when we didn't start to get significant snow until late January and the frost went deeper in the fields. At least that is what I keep saying because I can't even see our fields from the roads due to the banks being so high.
