Glad I purchased my Kubotas

No sir, it has nothing to do with the cooling system. That's another beast altogether. This refers to some B-Series models that would after long, hard use experience an intermittent "jerky" steering or jerky lift operation. The cause was the way the return line was plummed back into the pump. Kubota has a kit that re-routes the return strait back to the tranny instead of the into the pump thereby eliminating the issue. Mine never experienced the problem till it was 7 years old. Kubota covered the part kit and I installed it myself in an hour. That's pretty good service on the part of Kubota at least in my estimation. Neither of the other two have given me any trouble. Not even a battery yet. Still on the original batteries.

Great info,

Thanks for sharing.

I thought cavitation was due to air pockets in the coolant flow around the cylinders. Air cavitation is what I think is the problem. It would erode the cylinders.

You are correct in you definition of cavitation, however cavitation is not responsible for cylinder or cylinder liner erosion. It will however cause scale and sediment build up and cause overheating concerns.

I've had three Kubotas in the last 10 yrs. All three have been flawless with no issues except my B2710HSD . Had to have the anti-cavitation kit installed but Kubota picked up the tab for it waaaayyy out of warranty.
After seeing some of the "issues" with the other orange tractor brand I am glad I made the right choice.

I am very pleased with my Kubota also. Not saying it's any better than any other brand. But if I buy another tractor it's going to be a Kubota.

Bought eleven Kubotas in under 7 years. Number twelve this coming week. Problems: Rubber ring around gas cap fell into gas tank and melted. Got the remaining piece out of tank and replaced fuel filter. Barlows gave me a new lid with ring. I didn't ask for a new fuel filter.
L3240HST loader arms got out of alignment when switching between bucket and forks with quick attach. Barlows fixed or replaced FEL arms. I think they replaced them.
All BX's with turf tires had one front one go flat. Barlows tubed them per my request.
Mowing deck wouldn't go down after use one time on F model. Gary told me to turn the raise/drop speed knob. Fixed.
Knob that holds cover over belt on one of my mowing decks fell off. Gary gave me another knob.
BX2350 stopped abruptly in reverse. Traded it to a BX2660 and received some "financial assistance" from Kubota because of dealer assistance.
The BX2660 had a bad fuel guage which Barlows told me they would replace but I traded it before I got it fixed.
Bought a cheap RFM deck which broke a few times. Not Kubota product. Barlows gave me all of what I paid for the cheap deck toward the purchase of a tank Landpride RFM after using the cheap deck for a year or two.
Guess I'm satisfied with Kubota mostly because of my dealer Steve Barlow. Hadn't thought about that until I wrote this. I know he always gave me good priced deals but hadn't thought much baout his also taking care of an issue if I had one.
Also all the hats, that's got to count for something.:D
I picked Kubota because of price. I've stayed with Kubota because of price, dealer and product satisfaction. If price had been the same seven years ago I could possibly be a blue or green guy but now I'm glad I'm a satisfied Orange man.:)
GO ORANGE!!!!! Oops! Grandson says get the Camo RTV1140. I'm still going to count it and refer to it as ORANGE!:D Maybe I can get a big orange Kubota decal and stick it on the hood .:)

JT.....lets us all know how the RTV turns out for you. I have been eying one for years now but just can't decide if I would use it enough.:licking::licking::licking:

...product satisfaction.

11 tractors in 7 years!!! That averages a replacement tractor every 7.6 months...and all due to some kind of failure.
Doesn't say much for "product satisfaction".

I believe the cylinder wall erosion problem is due to electrolysis not cavitation.

Whoever said to check the PH levels is correct. This should be done on all of you water cooled engines, not just diesels, as it can kill components in the cooling system slowly.

For all the issues I have read about Kioties, I have read as many or more re: Kubotas.
Maybe because there are more sold, maybe not.

All in all, I think all name brand tractors these days are pretty d*** good tractors, and it really does no one any good to bash the other brands just because we purchesed "our" brand

Just my 2 cents worth....

I looked at four brands of tractors before I bought my Kubota GL3430. I think any of them would have been good buys. I bought the Kubota becasue there was a dealer near my home, and two dealers near my rural property where the tractor is used.

Will do. I also don't think I can justify it for need but I have twin Grands 6 years old next month. It will be something they can do with Papaw and they will be to old to do anything with Papaw to soon so doing the buy now.

Looks like math is more your strong suit rather than reading comprehension.:) There was only one, the BX2350 that I got rid of for dissatisfaction of it's performance. I still have three and soon will have 4. See how the math works out now. I've bought over 130 cars since 1964. Run that one on your math program.:D I've owned Corvettes which only have two seats and they were the pits during home construction. They wouldn't haul hardly any 12' 2x10's. Course the earlier pickups wouldn't haul all of the kids.
Some of my trades have been because I like to trade. Some have been for a specific project(s) and once completed I traded for a bigger one or smaller one. Did trade for one L3240 that was to big for my hillside projects but it wasn't dissatisfaction with the working of the tractor.
Get your calculator out and see what I'm saying.
