Glare off hood

   / Glare off hood #11
I don't think I have ever had a glare problem off the hood of any vehicle or tractor but if you do, then let it get a good coating of dust and that will go away. You may have to spray a coating of diesel or other dust attractant on the hood first then find some dry area to dust it up..
I think I only washed my tractors one time each in 5-6 years of ownership, but I do hose off the dust on the cabs windshield now and then and after working in the mud I use a hose to get the mud off but that is all, never any waxing (it is a tractor after all and not a show car).

I have the model before yours Blondie and I never had a glare problem when it was new.

Scotchbrite.

Never had an issue on my L3200. I have had to deploy that large hydraulic sunshade Kubota put up there when mowing west in the evening, but that was a direct problem, not a reflection problem. I usually have dust protection in place too though.

Scotchbrite - ha,ha. That a good one - I was thinking steel wool but hesitate to suggest........

Blondie - easy answer, get a pair of sunglasses until the dust builds up on the hood.

Wax it heavily but don't buff off the wax. It'll be a dull pasty color but can be removed later if necessary.

im the opposite. I wax my hood for a nice shiny glare.

A layer of good ole protective dust will stop any chance of glare and also give that brand new paint job some UV protection to protect from fading

Howdy......first post here.

Getting a L3301. Does the hood reflect glare into the eyes when working during a bright, sunny day?
I had to put undercoating on the hood of my other tractor (blue) to kill the glare reflecting off the hood.

I can't stand glare in the eyes and know the undercoating will work beautifully...but this is a bran-new tractor !j

Thanks for any info

Pete:D

Instead of under coating, use PlastiDip. It goes on good, but also comes off real easy w/o tearing up the paint come resale time. People do it all the time for cars, 4x4, and wheels..

Thanks for all the comments/suggestions. The plasti-dip sounds like the way to go if I suffer the glare with this new tractor. Will keep in mind for future.
I just got tractor delivered today. Been reading the manual and this thing has a computer. L3301DT.
Hope I have no problems with it. It sure looks nice. Got the loader, bushhog and pallet forks.
Got to get out and see how it runs as my field is about waist high with Bahia grass. This grass will tell the tale as it is the roughest stuff to cut there is (I think) Thanks to all. Pete
