Chris...tks, this is perfect. I'll pick up two of them and use one for my wife's chickens. The wind is howling outside and the static temp will be 7F so we have to be careful about "the girls". Supposedly these hens are OK to around zero but we don't want to take any chances.

Sorry for "off topic".

Back to the KATS thing again......we've got up to 2 ft snow coming in the next 36 hours and I'm prepping everything. KATS still works. Does anyone know if it shuts off by itself when coolant reaches a certain temp? I'm thinking of just leaving it plugged in during the upcoming blizzard.

yes the kats radiator hose heaters have a built in thermostat.......
it is a small "snap" style button switch that sits in a machined well
under the red plastic cover. I think it is important to install the heater
in such an orientation that the thermostat housing and base of the heating
element cannot collect an air bubble. That would prevent the thermostat
from working correctly.

I just had my old one apart a couple of days ago to try to figure out
why it quit working:thumbsup:
