Okay, now take your caps lock off! Writing in all caps is hard to read, and in the internet, it's considered yelling!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
So the only real problem is that you're having a hard time getting it started. How may hours does the tractor have? When was the last time the fuel filter was changed? Is there a glow plug indicator light in the dash? I'm not familiar with that model, and if I remember right, some of the earlier models didn't have an indicator. John

You can use a 12v test light to see if power is reaching your glow plugs. If your tractor is cranking good I wound not worry about what the volt meter said. Most likely you have a lose plate in your battery and your voltage will come and go. Does the tractor start or dose it just smoke? Dose it smoke white or black? So many questions so little time.

Replace it and you should be able to start very quickly. The diesel fuel needs to be heated for quick ignition. Nothing wrong with your battery and alternator though. John

I'm confused, Ok if I read this post right it is taking 5 minutes on & off for what? For the engine to catch and fire up?
Hopefully I read this correctly. If so you need to check the glow plugs. I agree with Rockymtdan. Put a test light on the positive wire on the glow plug. Try running the glow plugs and see if the light lights up. You can also take an ohmeter and place it on this same wire and test against ground to check individual glow plugs. This is assuming you disconnect each glow plug from each other. When Rockymtdan asked if it was smoking, I think he was basically trying to find out if it was firing on all the cylinders due to the fact all of the glow plugs were working. When the tractor starts and warms up does it seem to run correctly? If so I think you can basically (not 100% but generally) rule out problems with the fuel delivery such as pump and filter... So to me it seems if the tractor starts hard but runs ok once started you will need to answer the question of the glow plugs working correctly.
Lastly, I am not sure on this model if it has true glow plugs in each cylinder or a preheater in the intake but either way they work the same. The battery voltage heats the end of the glow plug due to the positive voltage going to ground. With that said it would be normal to lower the voltage on your battery significantly during the time you use the glow plugs.

I think you've found the problem. The glow plugs are not warming the fuel before you start, as I meant to say in my last post. Replace glow plug (s) and you should be starting up just fine. As cdt80 and rockymtdan said, check the glow plugs to see if they are powered up. Is there some other problem? The tractor will smoke white (a lot) when the fuel is not properly warmed before starting, and many times you'll still see a little white smoke while it's running.
I will assume that when you start it again after the tractor is good and warm that it starts right up? John
EDIT: I just went to your other thread about the battery again, and had a thought. I think you may have a plug (s) going bad, and maybe one out already and that's bringing your battery way down. That you have to use the plugs for 35 seconds and still have a hard time starting sure points to glow plug problems. John
