I replaced ALL of mine last fall, My brother used the tractor and I think he over used the GLOW plugs, anyhow. I had bought 9 when I bought the tractor the ones that came SPARE were not right ones after 8 years of having them so I had to buy NEW ones that were correct length. Got them from tommy. replacement was straight forward. though Io used shop air to blow off all the crud and a stif brush prior to pulling plugs but after taking power bar off. made it easy enough. there was some carbon buildup around one of them inside which made it come out stiff and new one would not engage the threads well. I cranked it over slow until exhaust valve was open, used air compressor and some ole fashioned rag/duct tape to hole air gun in the exhaust and used drill bit to clean out the carbon the air blew this out of the hole well. luckly it was the front one where I could get the long drill bit in there. one I used was slightly smaller than the tip of the glow plug and I wiggled it around to break free the carbon build up. since I had the other two already installed I did not do them that way hopefully the carbon build up does not hit them if when they need replacing again... This one was hard to get out as well. I chased the threads as well with air blowing out the dust & gook.
cleaned up the buss bar and put the hardware all back on, I also installed a NEW 30 C.B. and Wire from battery starter terminal with a relay that pulls in using same key on spot as glow start this has made a world of difference in cold starting this winter. I had it wired firt time still through the factory amp gauge, but factory wires are undersized to that so i did the change out and pull power from below now.
