Glyphosate Tank for Diesel Storage

Well the company did say that they tanks are made out of HDPE. However, they said they were not approved for Diesel, which is not really a surprise. Either way I don't think I'll take the chance. Might be able to find a steel slip tank in an auction someday or I might use a plastic barrel. Unfortunately with the diesel prices so cheap it's driven the price of slip tanks way up in the auctions. Thanks for your help everyone!

I wouldn't take such big steps to save $20 shoes that I'd split $30 pants. WIMI, don't spend more on a tank than you can save filling it if a price dip isn't for long.

Compare your annual use to the capacity of your storage setup. If you might empty it only once or twice before the price goes up again it may not have saved you much in the long run. You'd gain the job of keeping condensation out when the container is less than full. A biocide may be indicated then.

But then, a container sealed to keep out moisture can be crushed to scrap s__ when nearly empty and the temp drops a lot in a hurry esp, metal ones. I have half a dozen spouts from near-empty metal gas cans that weren't vented. It hurt to lose the round 5-gal can we used for outboard mix. :melodramatic:

The plastic tank will do you just fine for diesel storage.

The one not mentioned is that they are translucent. If it was stored outside I can almost promise with 100% certainty that you would end up with algae in your fuel. I love IBC totes but for storing fuel there are probably better options.
