GM trucks have slipped

Unfortunately gm has slipped big time. The transmission issue the last few years was unforgivable. I knew 5 guys at work who bought brand new trucks and all had that transmission/torque converter issue. All but one of them got rid of the trucks and bought other branded trucks.

How many years have they been making cars and trucks? It sure does seem like they're the new kid on the block now.

I was a gm guy, but dodge/Chrysler gets my money for the last 6 years.

Been buying GM's forever, last bad tranny I had was a 700R4 in an 1983 S10 Blazer. Since then all have been flawless..A few never had their fluid changed in nearly 200k miles. My experience anyway.

Most the brand new trucks with the 8 speed, I believe, had some type of bad torque converter issue. I've never had tranny issues, but I was sorely disappointed that gm sold a 4 speed tranny in vehicles for nearly 40 years. My 99 vette, 93 and 97 cadillacs had them, and my s10 truck...

I bought my 2013 Chrysler 300 for it's world class 8 speed.

I bought my 2013 Chrysler 300 for it's world class 8 speed.

I had one 8 speed, a 2016 SLT 1500 All-Terrain X..Never had a problem with the tranny but it did some gear hunting which was sometimes annoying. The grade braking wasn't as good as my previous 6 speeds but that might be a CAFE thing, dunno.

I have owned a 17 Ram Hemi, traded that for a 16 Jeep wrangler JKU. The Jeep was not what I needed in a daily driver, traded that for a 17 Silverado LT True North Edition 5.3 6 Speed auto. I am impressed with the Silvy, far more than I was with the Ram.

My 11 Sierra left a sour taste in my mouth, bankruptcy era quality, so I gave Ram a shot. I am glad to be back in a GM again.

The quality of the 17 has improved over the previous gen, glad I gave them another look.
