GM trucks have slipped

Certainly don't take vehicle information from me, but, my trucks turn just fine.

What’s the definition of turning just fine? Coil spring trucks turn a tighter radius than leafs.

I've never one time thought my truck didn't turn tight enough. I guess I don't understand? And I've never heard a discussion about why you should buy an IFS truck for turning radius???

Coil springs and turning radius have NOTHING to do with each other. Turning radius is the result of where the knuckle stops are set. That is what determines wheel cut, not springs. Whoever told you that is totally FOS.

Never entered into my thought process anyway. I have a F350 4 door long bed 4x4 and it takes a football field to turn it anyway. Truck is almost 20 feet long front bumper to rear step bumper.

No argument, just simple logic. Solid front axle vehicles have considerably less moving parts than IFS. And nothing, nothing about them is a PITA to fix. I'll gladly entertain an example. :)

+ 1 and I've been through mine before. I'll take my Dana 60 high pinion over an IFS with half shafts, coil springs, solid mounted dif, any day. I just redid my wife's 2008 Burb with IFS.

No poser trucks with me....

Ignore the Sidekick concentrate on what is behind it. Not for sale either.

My slide in tuck camper is in the bed too.

Maybe not a direct correlation but it’s kinda hard to make the knuckle stop farther when the tire is hitting the leaf spring. My coil spring truck will turn a 10 foot tighter radius than my dads ford. My coil spring trunk isn’t a 4 door but 4 door coil spring truck would still turn a tighter radius than the ford. Not a poser truck but still have the stock bed, lol.

Where can we search to find the hard data for thes turning radius' you talk about?

Drive one maybe. I know that I can circle my truck in tight dead end streets that the Ford won’t. I can circle my truck in a 3 lane wide street. The ford hits the side of the same road almost straight on.

What Ford do you own?

I do know one thing for certain and that is... I can haul your poser truck in the bed of mine (might hang over a bit) but you don't have the truck to haul mine in your bed...

I know you cannot see it in the picture but my 350 has DOT numbers on the doors because when I'm pulling my goose neck, I'm well in the excess of 20,000 pounds CGVW. Your poser truck cannot do that. You don't have the motor or the suspension to handle that much weight but then, when I'm not hauling my camper, the truck is a farm truck.

I don't care if it rides like a car, it ain't a car, it's a truck. It rides like what it is, a truck. Don't care about turning radius either. I bet my Ford Focus will out turn your pickup truck and it gets 40 mpg too.... and it rides...like a car, not a truck.:D

Apples to oranges so they say...

IFS suspension was put on poser pickup trucks because customers wanted ride over utility. Most all pickup trucks of half ton ratings with short beds haul nothing but grocery bags and having a 4 door poser truck is a status symbol, little else. When I sit in my 350, I can look right over top your truck (unless you have it all jacked up that is). Do it all the time.

I admit I didn't need a crew cab but my dog likes his own seat in the back when we go anywhere.

:

I have a 3500 dump truck and a 6500 dump truck and had a 3500HD dump truck They’ll all 3 out haul a SRW 250. A guy calls 2 dump trucks a poser truck and drives a soup can bed truck. Lol. How well does the tough guy truck haul logs, pre cast blocks, 10 tons of rock and 23,000 pounds of trailer and backhoe. IMG_7610.JPGIMG_7611.JPGIMG_7504.JPGIMG_7062.JPGIMG_7556.JPG
