I will ditto the comments about goats being hard to contain.. they will climb on darn near anything.

Watch your feed.. some goats and sheep are copper sensitive.

Alright, i like it. Have wanted to raise meat goats for a while. There is a large market up here. Have worked with angoras (like to put heads in fence and get pnuemonia at the drop of the hat, you know when they fall over and not just fainting) and milks (hand milking can be fun, just do not rest your head on them if they have some lice) and fainting, but not much. Seems like childrens outdoor play equipment are great to keep them entertained and out of trouble. Best fencing was woven with a scare power wire 6" to 1' to keep them from pushing out the bottom of the fence, plus train the young ones.

Tennessee Fainting goats will not jump a 4' fence. They do not jump, period.:D

We raised goats for meat for about 25-30 years. (BTW, we like it better than beef) Our fences were 6' chain link, bought used. We quickly learned that a wire strung along the bottom is necessary. Once we added that, they never got out.
