I mowed yesterday, in some bad 40 mph winds. The ZT kicks out debris great and the wind was hard enuff and at the exact direction to kick it ALL back in my face on my eastward path, mostly - but it swirled around bad. I stopped twice, but suffered through it, but I was covered in debris and it got in my eyes BAD. After several eye rinsing, it was finally okay about 9pm...

What about wearing goggles? Anyone use them and have a recommendation, that fits over glasses?

I wear a forestry helmet with mesh face protection when using my front mount mower.

You might get some safety glasses that have the side shields for mowing.

That is exactly what I do. I might look odd but my eyes, ears, nose and face stay clean. An occasional speck of chaff may sneak in, but that's ok.

The helmet (w/shield actually down, and ear muffs too) is something I have, but didn't consider. Good idea. I wear prescription specks to actually see where to mow, so the safety glasses aren't an option.

I just finished some add'l mowing, and it's windy again (normal out here). Junk in my eyes again, so I need to do SOMETHING...

Why I mow in the Kubota with a/c turned on. Let the cab air filter take care of all the dust/debris...and the angry insects I stir up!

I subscribe to wearing googles 100% of the time while mowing, trimming, pruning, grinding, anywhere one my get trash in their eyes. I've had eye lense replacements on both eyes and do not wish to go through any kind of eye surgery again - ever.

You'll find an amazing amount of trash on your goggles that would have otherwise ended up in your eyes. Buy yourself a supply of good googles, and change them when they get scratched, etc.. Cheap investment in effort and cost for such a wonderful thing such as vision.

A good motto worth remembering -

"If you're using power equipment without PPE you're not doing it right".

I use my chainsaw helmet with the mesh visor for outdoor work and in the workshop earbuds AND earmuffs and wraparound clear goggles.

Gloves only when brushcutting , never in the workshop except when welding.

Get safety goggles designed for dust. I bought mine from a PPE safety supplier and are similar to the bottom photo. They have soft foam rubber to seal against your face and vents.

Ski goggle would probably work.
