If you could have gotten the kubot installed for $3500 at the time would you have still went with the woods for $5500?
At the time, my wife gave me a very strict $15k budget. I didn't have a lawn mower, so my decision was based on what I could get for that sum.
She was positive for the BH, but not as an initial purchase. My choices were:
(A) Force the issue and have "fire and brimstone" quality arguments with my incredibly beautiful and loving partner
(B) Go without a BH for a year or so and purchase it later at a $2,000 premium (which I explained to her up front)
I chose B.
AT THE TIME, I
still don't think I would have gotten a Kubota BH. As I explained, I thought the Woods unit was superior to the
BX23 BH (no offence intended to anyone) and equal to the
BX24 BH. Unfortunately, the
BX24 was very new and I had trepidation about the purchase.
Plus my wife liked the "tractory" look of the BX1500/1830/2250/23 series. What are you going to do...it's her money too.
With the
BX24 now fixed and proven, I would strongly consider that unit. Relieved of the financial constraints I originally had, I would choose the
BX24 and save the $2,000.
But sometimes that just isn't a choice.
