Tom,

It took me a long time to get comfortable on the hills more so using the loader but I also found out weight is everything. If I'm moving dirt with my box blade I attach 6-42lb weights on the attachment. I can say it makes a huge difference in the pucker factor department. Your going to run out of traction first anyway.

The bottom line It's going to take time for you to feel comfortable on I think any Cut. Just this Saturday I was cutting the hills sideways, I would have never done that a year ago.

Time and lots of weight is the cure for a new Cut owner.

I mow a 17 degree side slope with my 2520 and 72 inch RFM. I have non-loaded R-4 tires. Even from the first time, it never seemed unstable, however, the weight of the RFM tended to pull the machine sideways down the hill. Because of this, I was forced to run in 4WD all the time to have enough traction to move the rig. To remedy this situation, I purchased four of the 60lb wheel weights from JD and it seems to be working as I can now run in 2WD on all but the most extreme slopes and the machine does not slide sideways.
