Kubota L3010 HST
The local dealer called me back this morning with his price for the following:

L3010 HST, FEL, 6' bush hog (don't know brand yet), 5' box blade (don't know brand), R4s, and a sun shade. $19, 800 net of rebate. Plus tax which is 2.5% if I am into some kind of agriculture adventure on my property, otherwise 6%. I see my hay farm starting almost immediately (does it have to be a legal crop, I wondered).

So do I have to beat him up much when I meet him on Mponday or should I just say $20K out the door? Throw in 50 hour maint? Let me know what you think.

Also... I planned on buying it outright and financing more on my house that I will be building so the interest would be deductable. I thought I read somewhere on here that Kubota offers cheap insurance if you finance it through them. If that is true should I finance some nominal amount over 6 years to qualify for the insurance? Seems like it may be a good idea. Thoughts?

Soon to be a Tractor Smoker;

Close. A year ago I paid almost that much for an L3010HST, FEL, 6' TNT blade, remote hyd outlets, and a 6' rear discharge mower from Carver. Toss in the R4s and shade and the price would have been the same.

I don't know anything about any special cheap insurance plans, but the Kubota supplied insurance that I would have been forced to take if I hadn't purchased it elsewhere was much more expensive. The price that Kubota states in my contract was $507.60 but I'm not sure if that was for 1 year or the three year term of the contract. However, I purchased independent insurance for $129 per year.

I am about to finance a 2710 and implements. I wasn't aware that there was insurance involved. I am going to put 40% down so I wonder if that will make a difference. I will have to talk to my dealer on Monday.

We purchased the insurance thru the New Holland finance corporation. It covered the entire two years of the contract for only $107.00.

GS,
I got a couple of quotes on an L3010 HST with FEL and r-4s - $17,146 and $16,895. Adding the price for the box blade, bush hog and sun shade to these prices, you are probably in pretty good shape.
good luck,

Kodiak,
Does your insurance cover the full value for the whole period of the contract or just the balance of the contract at a given time?

Jeff:
I'm prety sure it was the full value of the tractor and any New Holland extras ( ie, loader, etc. ). For the whole period of the contract. And there was mention of an extension after completion of the contract.

My homeowner's insurance covered my L3010 (which I am currently financing through Kubota). Call your agent to verify. (why pay more?)

Sounds like you got a great deal, Kodiak. I checked with my agent and my homeowners' policy (Georgia Farm Bureau) would not cover all perils as Kubota Credit required.
