Changes often!
We are travelling to India, leaving tomorrow, for 10 days to visit the Mahindra facilities as a part of a group of dealers from the USA. Part of the time will be at the Mahindra plant, and much of it will be seeing the sites of India, the Taj Mahal, etc. I'll have my digital camera handy.

We will not be on the southern tip or the east coast of India, so we will be spared having to view the destruction of the Tsunami.

I figured fellow Mahindra fans might find this interesting.

We are staying away from the "stans", although I would like to see Kashmir, but not on this trip. We will go to Mumbai (Bombai), Goa, Agra, and Dehli. I'm not much of a traveler, but couldn't resist this invitation.

I'll pass on your comments on the 4110. It is a favorite of ours as well, especially with the 509 hoe. It's a brute, yet very refined.

Pick me up a rear 12volt connector for my 4110 while you are there.

Dave,

You will have a great time. India is endlessly fascinating.

We were there in November. I found the day to day culture even more interesting than the historic sites. India is rapidly modernizing.

I took many pictures and put them on my family website. If anyone is interested, PM me for access.

KenB,

I'll have to get you that connection on a trip to S. Korea. They don't have a single 4110 in India!

I was told by my dealer that Mahindra is the #1 selling tractor in the world now. What do you know about that? John

Have a safe trip. I think Pakistan is every Indian's nightmare.

My impression reading the newspapers there for three weeks in November was that this nightmare is now past. Bus service across the border is being resumed, the frontier guards now compete in soccer games, and most everyone in both countries wants relations to normalize to a relationship similar to US/Canada.

Diplomatic relations and cultural exchanges are increasing and are focused on resuming normal friendly relations. I saw many hopeful examples of cooperation in the papers and don't recall a single negative incident.

India is fascinating as I mentioned in the prior post. Soon India and China, with their large populations and rapid economic growth, will be major world powers. I'm presently considering if India would be a good place to invest.

Enjoy and drink only bottled water or soda pop.

The beef is excellent in India. Without a doubt the best steaks I have ever had were in India. That's compared to Buenos Aires and Texas. Also stay away from the Kingfisher beer and stick to the Fosters or Carlsberg otherwise you will have an Indian sized hangover. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

We made it back from India last night. What a great trip! We spent a day at the Mahindra factory. It is very impresive. The quality control is incredible. Mahindra in India is a huge corporation. They not only do tractors, but also manufacture cars and SUVs, pickups and Jeeps. They even own some resorts.

Life is so different in India, but the people are great. Many are very poor and live in poor conditions, but they are polite and friendly.

When I get time, I'll upload a few pictures. I took hundreds.

Dave:
I was too slow! I just got off the phone with a travel companion of yours and was going to see how quickly you posted about the trip. I figured I would have a shot at ribbing you about jet lag, but you never let us down. Get some rest and tell us all about it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
