The Polaris EV uses a "Delta-Q" charger that has several charging profiles ("algorithms") built in. They come from the factory with the algorithm set at "72" which intentionally starts at a high charge rate so that Polaris can advertise quick recharging. Very tough on the batteries and often causes them to "boil". They can easily be reset to a more gentle "overnight" charge algorithm that is much nicer to the batteries. Polaris/Delta-Q recommends that their charger be left on ALL the time, since the terminal charge is a very slight maintainer rate.
I assume that other high-end chargers are similarly adjustable.
