What are you asking for your HPX?

This is a prime example of something keeping their value. And he will get it, if I didn't already have a RTV 900, I'd run up there and pick up this one up in a heartbeat !!! And just email them, and the first 50 hour service was done. That a savings within itself.
Even has make a offer on this thing >>>> Someone's going to get a great deal ~~~~

We all know that used gators keep their resale. If you need a refresher, go to machinefinder.com and search for one...I just did, and the cheapest one I could find was on '06 gas model with a dump bed, nothing else listed, 694 hrs, for $5900. The three '04 models listed in my area averaged nearly $7200 a unit.

If I were you tommy, I would call around. I am sure someone will cut a better deal. Its unfortunate that some dealers try to make a killing on one guy. I don't think this is necessarily a deere thing, as much as a sales person being ignorant and/or greedy.

Tommy I gotta call you out on this one.

2007-2004 = 3 years old
3 years x 12 months = 36 months
36 months devided by 1 grand per five month period = 7.2 grand depreciation total. I am assuming you paid around 10k retail so 10k-7.2k would be 3.8k. Which is ballpark what they offered. Remember we are coming up on 4 years and there is always a good ammount of depreciation the instant you drive off the dealer lot.

2k a year is not bad depreciation.

That might not be bad depreciation on a 20k car but it sucks on a 9k atv. Depreciation is not linear any way, you drive a car off the lot and it drops 2k in value, It continues to loose value , but not an even 2k / yr.

I know it's not linear but I can't quantify it in anyway other way then a linear value easily. I agree though with the others that you should look around. You've been pushed around by that dealer too much tommy. I remember other things you've said about them and I think they're just a bad apple to begin with.

I agree that maybe this dealer isn't the best. But having worked at one before, I can tell you that (as has been said) modifications, big tires, wheels, and other non-factory stuff don't add any value. In fact, sometimes it's a liability as many customers won't buy something that has non-factory parts on it. Electrical mods scare them off the worst. Please take no offense at this, just stating what I've seen.

Having the XUV out now also probably doesn't help. Even a machine tricked out a much as this HPX won't have the performance a stock XUV has on a test drive.

Given all of this, your best shot is to sell it privately. A nice JD like this in your front yard will sell faster and for more $$$ than on a dealer lot - and you won't have to complete with a XUV for attention.

It's no different that buying a car or truck and a couple years later the new one comes out with more features and power.

Good luck, and I hope you stay Green.

The only reason I can see him saying the Ranger flips too easy is that it goes faster and if someone isn't careful they will flip it. Did he say this before or after you told him you are going to buy a different UTV?
