John, I bought one extra chain for my Beaver Blade. It came with something about like the master link in a bicycle chain, except you put it down on an anvil or something similarly solid and one good lick with a hammer will brad them. They had to be drilled or punched out to remove the chain for sharpening. It came with one chain on it, ready to use, of course, from Country Home Products.

Thanks Bird, the site kind of threw me. It mentioned a "chain puller" but didn't have a picture. I guess one must buy some extra little pins? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

'hoss is right about this, but it's worth noting that the (2-stroke) Stihl 250 is a heck of a lot more powerful than the (4-mix) Stihl 110 or 130. I've only demo'd each of these outside the local dealer, but even that was enough to convince me that the 250 was worth the coin for my brushclearing tasks. The 250 is on order now (I demo'd a bicycle-handle type, but wanted the loop handle for its flexibility...). The damage for me was around $500 with tax, etc. That's still a bunch in my book, but better than $850.

Yes, you are correct, the FS250 is a much stronger machine. I bet you are going to love that 250 when you get it. Nothing like brute force.

John, their "chain puller" might be the safest way to do it, but I didn't see a need for it myself. Something like needle nosed pliers work just fine if you understand what you're doing and don't let something slip and cut you.

I have the FS110 with a three tiped brush blade and it will take down anything I'm willing to tackle. Great machine.
