A little update. I have put seven HARD hours on her and have come to the conclusion that I love this little tractor. I have had zero problems (except breaking the muffler off, and the bush hog wheel fell off and I ran over it) But other than that she has been great. I have changed all my fluids, which took all night long. The fluids looked decent, the hydraulic had a good amount of trash on the stainer, and the front axle fluid looked to have a small amount of water in it. I flushed it with diesel. And I re-routed the exhaust under the tractor. I like it much better; keeps the exhaust out of my face and the diesel stench off of me and I don't have to worry about low limbs again. It is tucked up pretty well and doesn't hang any lower than the linkages. I also replaced the dry rotted shifter boots but that is about it. Here are a couple pics, notice the muffler seriously bent backwards (did that in the first hour) and a second pic of the rerouted muffler. In the second pic you can see where I changed the fluids by the evidence on the garage floor. My wife wasn't to thrilled with me getting oil everywhere.

Oh, and If anyone near south Alabama wants to trade a 5ft bush hog for a 6 footer, let me know. The stuff I am cutting with the 6 footer is about all this baby can handle.

Good job on the exhaust re-route. Just make sure you don't park in any tall dry vegetation with a hot exhaust.

Based on what you paid for that rig you should probably be wearing a mask and a gun when you ride it:) I kinda liked the rakish exhaust angle (made it look go fast:D ) but the reroute looks good too. The tractor would look a whole lot better in the field with the ROPS up.

I had my exhaust on my old Nuffield 345 run underneath like that and after an hour or so of brush hoggin it would start cooking my left foot. Yours will cook your right.

I ran mine down under (exhaust), no problems in the past couple of years since I changed it, I think you will like it.

I love the exhaust like it is, and my foot doesn't get hot. And I will put the ROPS back up, I have just been doing alot of work on five acres that I bought that is covered in trees (casued muffler breakage) and I can't get in any where with the canopy on. But the real question is Brent: Roll Tide or War Eagle? I prefer the former.

I also want to build a brush guard/ pushbar. Has anybody built one for their Jinma? I am bulldozing my way through some pretty rough vegetation and would like a little protection up front, could also use the extra weight as well.

Speaking of weight, I couldn't beleive how she pulled the box blade in four wheel drive. You should have seen the mountian of dirt rolling off the blade. Only in the real Alabama red stuff could I bog her down.

Also what is the supposed mod to make the 304 a 354? I heard it was bumping up the rev limiter to 2,300 or something. But mine will already rev that high (according to the tach). Any thoughts?

I can't tell you what will make it a 354, mine is called a 284 and a friend has a 254. They rev to the same rpm and everything about them is the same except mine is a shuttle shift and his has the creeper gear. Mine doesn't seem to have anymore power than his. So is his a 284 or is mine a 254? I have no idea, I'm happy with the power mine has and so is he. I think it's nothing more than a gimmick to sell more machines. If you're happy with the power you have, I would suggest you leave it like it is now.

Hello Larry,
I have a Jinma 304 and would love to turn it into a 354, all I need to do is turn the throttle stop for 300 more RPM, is that correct? Any valves need adjusted differntly or is that
I guess Larry must have missed your question. No, that's not all there is to it. If you've got the 3 cylinder engine, I don't have the engine manual. So part of this is speculation, in that there may be a different governor and/or injectors involved in getting the extra 5hp out.

If it's the Y485 engine, you must modify the injection pump timing to coincide with the new governor limit.
