The rig I seen sure did match your description. I'm not sure of the exact make/model of RV but they where pulling a red Canyon pick-up. I was however going in the opposite direction on the Interstate and only had one cup of coffee /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Well Garry hasn't actually picked up his Motorcoach yet, but his travels have started already. He was in town dropping off some furniture to his daughter this weekend. I got the pleasure of meeting Garry, his wife and his daughter today. Super nice people. Lori has the picture and will send it to Garry so he can post it here. Well, we got home safe and sound. It was GREAT meeting you! Wish we could have had a longer time to chat. Actually, you're lucky you left when you did. I'm sure you noticed that a short time later it started raining. Well, that was exactly when I had to hitch up the trailer, drive back to the motel and drop it off so we could use the truck to run the errands we needed to do. So I got soaked!! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif And of course, while I ran in to the motel to change my clothes, the rain stopped. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

When I got home, my wife asked if I enjoyed meeting my "TBN Buddy". Well of course, I answered. I think Lori enjoyed just chilling with Mom and Dad just waiting on the help to arrive.

Hi Garry,

Beautiful RV rig, you've got /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif....congratulations and happy motoring.

I couldn't help wondering though what size fuel tank it has and what it costs to fill that baby up. Watercooler talk at my workplace has everyone moaning about the current $3/gallon gas prices. Will these gas prices put a crimp in your motoring plans?

Well, kind of. The tank is 100 gallons, so it will be a bunch to fill 'er up! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif In all of our preparations, we always used a $3.00 per gallon cost figuring that we'd have a bit of a cushion. Well, in the last few months, the cushion has certainly dwindled! Hopefully the cost will drop back down a bit after Labor Day, but who knows what's going to happen because of the crisis in the south.

We will continue on with our plans, with the idea that we'll need to make some adjustments along the way to allow for these big price increases. So maybe I eat a peanut butter sandwich every other day. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif we have joined a number of organizations that provide fuel discounts at specific places, such as the Flying J Truck Stops. It will mean some more accurate planning to utilize these kinds of places efficently, but what the heck, I got the time! And it will also probably mean that we stay a bit longer at places than we originally thought we would. Overall, I think we should be able to deal with it with some willingness to compromise a few other things.

Of course, what also helps is when we can park at places for FREE! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Check out all the Walmart and Sam's Club locations. I hear they allow RVers to park in their lots for free because Sam Walton used to be a RVer and sympathized with his fellow RVers who were looking for places to stay on the cheap. It also doesn't hurt them when the RVers shop at Walmat and Sam's Club locations to stock up on supplies. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Yea Bob, we're aware of those places. I've even seen the policy statement out of the Wal-Mart policy book allowing for that kind of parking. However, it is up to the individual store manager as to whether it will be allowed. And even if the manager allows, many communities are passing ordinances that prohibit it, even on private property. There's ALWAYS huge discussions about this on all of the RV discussion forums.
