Good Morning!

Very foggy here and cloudy also. 66F but humidity makes it chilly.

There is so much going on I don't know where to start.

RIP to Michael Reagan who passed away yesterday at 80 years old. What a fantastic person.

It's great to be alive and well in Texas! Paid $1.94 yesterday for reg unleaded.

I hope everyone can have some good gumbo, chili or stew today. I just finished off the last of the tortilla soup and it was fantastic! Stay warm, dry and well fed!

Prayers for our Nation!

Drinking first cup of coffee. 34° with fog and drizzle. Heading to 38° with continued drizzle. .08" rain yesterday. Snow is slowly melting. Check out tractors and mower. Put new air filter in mower. Went to change air filters in tractors. Found my supply of were all for the mower. 4 new filters on order. Did some clean up on ice and snow along walkways so water would drain away. Used tractor to move snow piles away from driveway. Spent rest of the conserving energy. NO plans for today yet.

trying out the coffee with chicory this morning. Need to get the mix right, a little strong and dark but
good taste.
I drank about half a pot this morning. The chicory is naturally decaffinated so I need to drink more than usual. lol

Scott, IF you want to read this, fair warning, it is 125 pages long and most of it pertaining to asphalt, cut backs and emulsions plus terminal rules I had to know for my CPPI certification. I didn''t need to know about gas, diesel, AV Gas or ethanol.
Canadian Fuels Qualification Form

Lot done today, really nice out, got up to 61 deg
49 now.
started cleaning up the unfinished storage room upstairs, which means relocating stuff....
wife took decorations off the tree.
filled pellet box, good for another 2+ weeks of cold weather now. piled a couple extra on top.
put my first eufy camera back up outside, but think the battery just getting too weak to hold a good charge.
received new reveal cell game cam I ordered last week, to replace the spypoint that stopped working. It was the first spypoint i bought, and lasted about 3 yrs. It doesn't respond at all to internal or external batteries. Got new camera working and installed in the back field. collected SD card from one other cam, just deer in the back since Christmas, and a lot of them. Got one nice buck. Most deer pics are at night.
bought a solar charger for the new camera. It has internal battery, so got it charging with power cord for now. Will get it up tomorrow. Really like the quality of these cameras.
hauled some stuff from basement out to the barn also, more junk shuffling.

Been using the golf cart a good bit this winter, making sure I keep it charged up this year..

Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 24.6C and it's presently just 25.5C, mostly cloudy with a gentle breeze.

All 'into town' tasks completed yesterday, followed by bravely hiding in my house during the peak temperature spike. I even resorted to putting on shorts whilst inside! A few G&Ts were consumed to assist in cooling off (proving that I have more than wine in the house).

As a note: the majority of homes in Tassie do not have specific cooling air conditioners, although "heat pumps" are popular in newer homes or urban areas. These heat waves are rare.

Early morning (0600) texts from the 'Mad Agisting Horse Woman' saying that a semi-trailer load (30 rounds) of hay is coming and will the vehicle fit through my gate? Well, that all depends on how wide the load will be. I should be able to off-load the top level as long as I take my time. It's expected sometime in the next few days... :D reminds me of my Navy/military days = "hurry up and wait".

So, today I'll wander out to the shed and ensure that the tractor is ready to go.

That's about it, take care all.

I drank about half a pot this morning. The chicory is naturally decaffinated so I need to drink more than usual. lol
that's good to know, lower caffeine, actually good for me.
will take some portion fiddling, came out a little strong first pot.
on a drip machine I have regular and bold, I experiment.

interesting that the chicory makes it look like cheap coffee due to the chaff I guess, but
it's not. Usually the less expensive coffee has a variety of foreign matter in there.
this looked fine, just some color variation.

successful trip to Ken's home and we swapped out my
heater blower fan motor. It was getting humorous for a while because every time
Ken stuck his hand in the dash hole, at my request, out came more nuts.
and more nuts. And more nuts. New fan ran great. Until I got half way home and I think one last
hiding nut came free and the fan started making more noise. Groan. I think I'll drive it a bit, make sure all those nuts have shaken free inside and then drop the fan again and dump the nuts out of it.
what a nuisance.

45 heading to 65. Let the woodstove go out yesterday.

Scotty, we are taking ours down too...my wife likes to follow Old Christmas...the 12 days of Christmas...so we're taking everything else down today. Nice warm weather for the outside portion.

Took Della for a nice hike in the mountains yesterday...saw no one on the trail. Although it got up to 54F, there were still frost heaves in the damp sections in the shade of thick conifers...one steep section, heading down, the soil surface had melted and even looked semi-dry, but a half inch underneath was frozen. I hit the surprise and my foot slipped out on what turned out to be like grease on ice, but caught myself just in time...about a hundred yards further I saw where someone else had done the same thing. I was walking just off the trail at that point to avoid further slips until I got past the danger zone.
Wifey took down the tree last week. But we believe in the 12 days of Christmas.

Good Tractor Evening,

Bill, I start at 8 so I should be there by 5 or 6 😉😂
By the time you get here the tank will already be full. My guy starts at 8 and he is only 45 minutes south of me.;)

I'll bet Drew is singing, 'I don't want to set the world on fire, I just want to toast my nuts'.

An old friend of mine liked to say most coffee was 'half sawdust'.

Poured first cup of coffee. 34° with heavy fog this morning. Heading to 46° with area of freezing fog. That's a new one. What is freezing fog? Spent time with township and county why I got added to billing for cleaning of 2 local drains. One of them that has not been maintained in the 50 years I have lived here. A runaround on the phone. Rest of the day was cleaning up shop. Today will start with grocery shopping. After 2 day of thawing I am hoping to net off garden pond.
