Not-so-good news. Wife's flu/cold bug has harpooned me-- rough night plus I have a houseful of company awakening soon.

The good news is our visiting friends have a dog. She and Rigby became fast friends and they run, run, run and play in the pen I made in the pasture. So nice to see this since we are still trying to help him overcome fear of other dogs.

Everyone have a great day !!!

Good Morning,
Vt, 44 to start going to 68 with sun and bright blue skies now ! Looks to be a beautiful fall day ! Kathleen wants some boat time but we need for that thermometer to come up a bit ! 😉

Mostly, great picture on the bike ! Looks like you could tackle a long ride with a look of determination! 😉

Phil, nice work ! Beam me up Scotty ! 😉

Manages to get the grass knocked off last night ! Maybe I will bush hog one field today, probably the smaller of the two ! I can get everything mowed in about 5 hours or so but that’s a lot of bouncing around on my old Massey !

Paul, congrats on the sale of the turbo prop. I remember Chuck Yeager, he set a few records as I recall !

Foliage is starting to look very nice, especially when the sun is out on a bright fall day !

NHBX and Thomas, our temps seem to be aligned closely this morning along with Phil !

Dennis, sounds like you may not have to work to hard to sell that property! Good Luck if that’s truly what you decide !

Hope all enjoy the day ! 🙏

good morning all
took me a while to catch up this morning but I got up early (now 5am) and enjoying my coffee sitting in RNG's driveway. I not only have a parking spot but I have complete privacy here. Sure not putting out the slide...

what a day yesterday. Not a bad drive down here, the parts through Salinas were just awesome looking at all that machinery and big ag going on. Fields of lettuce as far as you could see. Areas of a dozen cars and 50-100 farm workers out in fields.
fields were either covered in plastic, huge fields, never seen so much plastic, or bright green for I think lettuce and darker green for something else. Or being picked.
This is John Deere territory, exclusively in the beginning but I then saw some blue in there, some larger New Holland, a few faded Kubotas and several tracked Challengers.

and then the veggies left and i saw nothing but huge fields of grapes. You think they'll be up on some bucolic mountain side but these were huge fields of grapes right up the highway. Reminds me of orange groves in Florida. I wonder if the car exhaust gives the
wine a certain extra flavor...

RNG is my West Coast HERO. He worked hard for three hours carefully taking apart the old transfer switch and installing the new one, this time using proper crimp connectors. Looked and worked great when he was done.
actually he didn't spend three hours on it, first hour he had to nursemaid me, rightfully, while I was changing rv motor oil on his pristine concrete driveway.
And I was doing so well, squeezed my gut under the frame, plug was way back there and got the oil drained without making a mess.

but then came the oil filter. Oh the oil filter, slippery devil as it was, slipped right out of my hands and started rolling down the driveway of course leaking oil all the way.
oh no.:oops: The one thing I didn't want to do, but I'm sure RNG will get some chemical on it soon. When we put the new one on, wrapped it in paper towel and that worked fine.

and then RNG made a delicious smoked ribs dinner that fell off the bone and were just yummy. an ice cold Mexican beer to accompany that and it was a fine night.
which of course did not last long, I was asleep within 30 seconds at 8pm.
that was a long but good day, just only so much energy.

and you all will be thrilled to know RNG first built a proper prop rod for the bed.

as I enjoyed my delicious dinner, my gaze was on this gorgeous yellow bike nearby, he has a few here and there...

in a little bit I'll head over with a full cup of coffee and I believe some eggs for breakfast. All is very well here in Orcutt CA.

we get by with the help of our friends
and we live for their friendship

Plowhog feel better soon

Morning all, 60 going up to 70 and not enough rain to wet the ground.
Don't remember what I did yesterday after work ran late with some critical issues.
Did get some of the pool furniture put away and the poolhouse fridge cleaned out.

PJS - bad neighbors, good fence will hope fully help you.

BEF - good news if you can offload at a profit to cover costs. The search will continue if this goes through?

Paul/PopGadget - Yeager was one of my idols growing up and been around quite a few of his planes. Good that the sale is going through, lots of good memories to keep too.

Not sure what I will get up to today, but with so little rain, I am sure watering is on the list.
Maybe see how my arm is doing later to do some real work, frustrated using only one arm.
Just have to remember it's short term.

Drew - RNG to the rescue. Need a leash for that filter.

Plowhog - feel better soon. Never a good time to be sick.

Yesterday a whole family of deer came to the front door to eat one of my wife's plants. Didn't know you could fit 5 deer in that space. oh well, end of season for the flowers anyway.

Be well,
From 2014 when we did a backstage pass at the San Diego Zoo. Messiest wildlife encounter as they slobbered the wet feed all over us, fun, but messy.

Current weather for Mohnton, US (Last Update: Tue Sep 24 10:07:37 EDT 2024) Current conditions: overcast clouds, Temperature: 61F, Wind: 9mph East-northeast (Gentle Breeze), Humidity: 82%, Pressure: 1020hPa, Sunrise: 06:53, Sunset: 18:57

Good morning. My rooster woke me up at 6am this morning. It was a neat experience. He's been doing it the past couple days.

Got a bunch of rebar from hoover, going to cut it all up today. Will use it as ground pins for a fence holding deer back from eating the arbor vitae.

63°F and cloudy with a light drizzle this morning, going up to 74° today. More rain expected this evening. We'll take it.

Need to stop at Tractor Supply on the way home this evening to pick up chicken feed.

Bought a very used bass amp (Ampeg SVT-350H, for those keeping score) over the weekend from a guy I know from my hometown. Price was too good to pass. Turns out, it needs a little work. Going to go through that tonight as well. At the very least, it needs a new power switch and detachable power cord. I have another switch, and the new cord was ordered last night. Thinking I might use it this weekend at my high school class reunion.

That Yeager fella was about as fearless as a human can be.

That RNG fella is about as handy as a human can be. Glad you made it to CA, Drew.

Good morning, gents
