Your post reminded me of one of the best classic gangster movies I have ever seen. It's one of the few that I would watch again; of course I'm a Cagney fan, not to mention the beautiful and super sexy Virginia Mayo (I would make a remark about "mayo", but discretion tells me I best not). It's called White Heat. You can google the trailer if you like, but here is the most famous scene from the movie, and one that I like to quote when I get the chance. It's in B&W, but you won't notice after a while.

We watched "The Devil All The Time" last night. A very odd movie. Set in the 50s-60s. Loved the old cars. Don't give up on it within the first 15 minutes. Good storyline that finally ties together in the last 30 minutes.
