I feel sorry for you guys and the shear bolt issues. I had 14 years of constantly installing shear bolts in my old Farm King blower. it had 2 that protected the impeller and 2 that protected the auger. They broke constantly. bought them by the pound at Lowes (grade 5).
At one time i had the stupid idea to try grade 8 bolts on the auger, after breaking 3 sets of grade 5 within 30 minutes. Big mistake. I ended up damaging the auger blades.
Its just a fact of life with pto powered blowers. the first snows of the season were always the worse.
My new hydraulic blower has no shear bolts, and that fact alone was worth the price to me. Im too old and fat to want to deal with shear bolts anymore.
Now, if i could only find a way not to shear the bolts on my brushhog mower every year.
