AStanton, nice set up you have. With this type of weather you really appreciate a cabbed tractor!

Here in CT. 30" of a combination of fluff and granite was dropped on us last night. I bought a BX25 in May in 2012. Thank goodness I had it today. This machine continues to surpass all my expectations. I used the FEL to clear my relatively large driveway. It did take about 6 hours in the seat. I do not think that a regular plow on a pickup truck could have handled it. The BX25 is the best thing I have ever bought in my life.

I had the distinct pleasure of helping my neighbor by pulling his plow truck out of a ditch.

Not having much luck with shears  Wind died down so i installed a new shear in the blower (after having to modify a stupid guard), got about 70% through the cleanup and proceeded to break another shear on a piece of ice.. this time it was the PTO shaft shear:mad: Said "frig it!!" and finished with the bucket... Which takes probably 5x as long.. Gah. No luck at all:hissyfit: lol

Don't feel bad. I went a little too close to my front gate and "bang". Blower stopped blowing. No problem, I had a little bag of shear pins right with me tied to my top link. Put a new one on (the blower), congratulating myself for having the foresight to have that little bag of goodies with me. (I was a ways from my place.) Jumped back on the tractor, engaged the PTO - nothing! What the h___! Jumped back off, found a second sheared pin at the PTO connection - oh-oh! Back to the goodie bag, and lo and behold, I had one more new one left. Put that one on, getting mighty greasy in the process, and presto! Congratulated myself again, and went home for supper. No use pushing my luck, as I had no more shearpins, and I was pretty well finished anyway.

Oh yeah..

With our recent warm winters, up till this year, I didnt really need the blower that much. I think I'll just have to live with the shear pins for now.

I watched the snow fall all day, we had no place to go, so I waited 'til the snowfall ended this evening to clear out our 200ft driveway. I was just about out to the road on my first pass with my BX24/B2781 blower, when she quit blowing.
The good news... I found todays newspaper that I couldn't find this morning at 7AM.
The bad news... sheared the pin/bolt on the impeller when the newspaper got caught in there.
The good news... 10 minutes later, a new bolt was in place, and I was back to blowing.

It's a beautiful night out there now, clear skies. Looks like we had about 12 or more inches of snow.
Hope it doesn't blow/drift too much overnight.

Pete

BTDT -We had a nice paperman put the newspaper standing up in the snow so we would see it when we got up. We we got out of bed hours later, the paper was covered by falling snow. Yup, good news, bad news, good news. Although the first time this happened the blower thought it was a shredder and we had a confetti parade 80 feet over our yard into the garden. (free mulch?) Second (and last) time, it jammed up sometin' good. We cancelled the paper since.
