(Formerly) 2001 Kubota L3010 - none now :-(
Hi,

My local dealer has an L3010 with FEL & BH. It's in nice shape & has 238 hours on it. The dealer is asking $20,500 - is this a good price?

Thanks,
David

P.S. - forgot to mention it has 4WD

HST or GST? What year? Does the dealer have maintenance history? Tires cut up? Ag tires or Industrial tires? Is the Back Hoe and FEL Kubota or Woods or ???

Without knowing the condition and actual configuration / brand of add/ons . . . tough to say - not a bargain at any rate unless it had a heavy duty loader and higher end backhoe.

That could be a bit high. I know around here you can get something like an L3130 GST with R-4 tires, LA513 loader with quick attach and toothbar with less than 100 hours for just over 15K, but the L3010 might be a better tractor.

Ken,

It's a 2001 HST w/ folding ROPS, industrial tires 3/4 filled with calcium chloride, tires in good shape, LA482 FEL and 4690A BH.

The previous owner bought it from Powerco (the dealer selling it now) and had it serviced there regularly according to the salesman.

I've been trying it out since Friday @ noon - put about 9 hours on it so far and everything seems to work well.

The only thing I noticed was that the boom on the BH drops after a bit when not in use in the upright position - I then noticed the boom lock which of course cured this. Is it normal for the boom to droop like this?

Thanks,
David

Yes, and the bucket will slowly uncurl over a week or so also.

I agree that sounds a bit high. You could probably get a new 3130, the much stronger 723 loader and the frame mount kubota BH90 for another 5 grand.

Of course that's another 5 grand!

For that few hours and if it was serviced as you say, it is barely broke in. As previously stated, it is normal for the hoe to drop over time, I'd be concerned if it dropped in an hour, but not concerned at all if it took a day or two.

My 3010 is a GST and I have worked the heck out of it and thus far it has never had a problem.

At the price you have quoted, it isn't a screaming deal - probably a good markup from a trade that the dealer made. I would offer the dealer a price a couple of grand lower than you have listed and see where he goes. If even a grand less, you are getting a good piece of equipment for a decent price.

I don't remember what I paid for mine in peices, seems like the tractor bare bones was $14k, by the time I added a woods 1016 loader, woods hoe GB7500, woods brush hog (60", cant remember series), rankin box scraper, industrial tires, folding ROPS, and agric 60" tiller, I was sitting at $26k even. Best money I have ever spent considering what it has been able to do over the last 400+ hours of operation.
