I don't know about the other folks here, but what is throwing me off is the Bushhog backhoe. I think the tractor and loader are worth about $21,500 since a year's warranty is gone. Is the backhoe worth $7,300? I believe the total package is at least $1,000 high, maybe more even if it's in perfect condition.

As one of the original 70 viewers, I concur. Also, Saturdays and Sundays seem to be the lower response days - with the milder weather folks are out and about doing things, and a lot of people sign-on at work during the week.
Xtra: Must know by Monday? Hot deal that's going to be "gone soon?" Dealer saying "you must move fast on this?"
Other than your home (an nowadays - cars), this is probably one of the more expensive purchases you'll make, and the tractor will last longer than those cars. Don't be pressured.
Jim's got a reputation as the go-to guy for Class III Boomer information. His pricing suggestions are usually right-on.

(I guess my prior profession of dealing with online technologies and living close to NYC has me addicted to immediate feedback - good and bad)
I've seen the Bush Hog 850 sell new for $6,400 (Corriher in NC).
This tractor had a canopy, which I don't need, so the seller deducted $400.
The tractor without backhoe is $22,900 - everything is in new condition.
I guess you would consider that a high price.
I may have additional wiggle room on the price. Also I'd be traveling 10hrs to pick it up.

Two significant contributing factors:
1. Is there good dealer support in the area? Dealer support can make or break any tractor experience.
2. Have you ever driven a SuperSteer Boomer? The supersteer option does add some increased maneuverability for the tractor, but does come at a cost. Supersteer causes a paradoxical motion of the tractor FEL when turning the steering wheel at rest. This is best learned by trying out a SS tractor with a FEL, and I would not recommend purchasing a SS tractor without doing so. That said, I've grown to love the option.

I'll be moving logs in a residential setting - nice lawns, small properties with turns. SuperSteer seems to be the best approach.
I've used skidsteers and large Kubotas in the past - too much damage.
I guess one of my biggest buying decision factors right now is that I have a Monday & Tuesday available to travel if needed . . . as they say time is money.

It sounds to me like you have an application for turf tires instead of R4s.
I'll stick by my original post, but if you have to have a tractor and it's going to cost you more by not having it, then by all means go for the 2005 TC45DA. In a way, the dealer kind of has you "over a barrel." If you can't find a better deal, then I guess you have to go with what's available.

I got the seller down almost $1K more (also I found out it has some remotes already installed and they're doing a full maintenance & filter change on it) . . . it's still probably high priced, but you're right it would cost me more not getting it now.
I thought about turf tires, but I'll also be using it for snow removal & backdragging driveways.
