good tires for your truck

I've ran BFG A/T's on just about every 1/2ton and 3/4ton I have ever owned. Great all around tire. Good in snow, ballance well, and get 50K out of em with ease. I got a set of BFG KM2 M/T's for my Jeep Wrangler this past year and have put a bit over 10K on them. They're quiet for a M/T and are showing very little wear. They clean out very well in deep mud also. You can get the KM2's in D or E load range. I'm a big fan of BFG tires and will continue to buy them. The A/T's might still be your best bet since you say you do very little off-roading.

that is a very nice looking Jeep. Yes, I'm mostly road travel so an AT is all I need. But if I hit mud, which I did once, serious stuff, I just stopped, and backed up....
my farming ops are done on a "tread lightly" basis on a friends farm so I have to be careful leaving "love marks" all over the place.

and I thought you would like this:

An incubus (nominal form constructed from the Latin verb, incubo, incubare, or "to lie upon") is a demon in male form who, according to a number of mythological and legendary traditions, lies upon sleepers, especially women, in order to have sexual intercourse with them. Its female counterpart is the succubus. An incubus may pursue sexual relations with a woman in order to father a child, as in the legend of Merlin.[1] Religious tradition holds that repeated intercourse with an incubus or succubus may result in the deterioration of health, or even death.[2]

So when your tires get "intimate" with the soil, you know your rims are willing!

Ha! That is some deep info. Never gave any thought to what the word "Incubus" meant. Now I have learned something today. I just liked the looks of this particular wheel. Amazing the knowledge we can all share. Thanks.

of my diesel excursion i run Cooper At3's and absolutely love them. 90% of the trucks use is towing either my offroad vehicles to their trails or my ice race cars to the frozen lakes. these tires love bad weather. Fairly quiet on the road as well.

on my 1500 dodge 4wd i have Cooper ATP's which are a discount tire direct tire only. Very happy with them. handle well, cleans snow out pretty good, and they were cheap.

On my offroad jeeps (more aggressive tires) one runs the BFG KM2 mud terrains, pretty awesome tire. My other one has Mickey Thompson baja radials. Never again would i buy them. For an aggressive tire, i will go back to INTERCO brand.

Cooper AT3's on 20" blinger wheels are exceeding any expectations for me...BFG AT-TA's are also excellent if you want to spend the money.

Another vote for the cooper AT3. The best light truck tire for my use that I have owned to date.

i just bought a set of D rated yokohama geolandar a/t-s tires. they are remarkably quiet and ride well. i went down from 285/75R-16 to 265/75R-16 and hope to see an improvement in gas mileage. the 350 in my gmc sierra k1500 is rather thirsty :(

+1 here as well...I have them on a set of 20" blinger wheels and my truck went through the snow mess we had yesterday like a billy goat...I'm impressed.

I review TireRack too.

Our 2009 GMC came with Goodyear LS-2 - made for the street and lousey in snow and mud.

I replaced them with the Firestone AT. OK but had Bridgestone Revo AT on my last truck and give them 2 thumbs up (weren't available when I bought the Firestones).

Worthy topic, BTW.

Michelin LTX/at2 on my truck. They are great all around tires, but not good in mud.

neither are my Firestone AT's. But they make up for that by being really good in snow. Probably as good as i can get without going to a
pure snow tire, which I don't have need for. Not with the one inch dustings we seem to get. I wonder if you guys in New England could chime in
after this big storm. How did your truck tires do in the serious snow?
