Well, I pulled the trigger today on a new M9960HDC24 today. I will post a few pictures of the L5740 traded in. Only had 321.5 hours on the clock. Me and the wife will be sad to see her go. It will make someone a great tractor. Not one problem with it. Our dealer gave us a fair trade in price, and threw in loading the tires with fluid for free. It was going to take to long to get cast rims and tires shipped when he checked.

We bought a M9960HDC24 with dual speed as follows:
CD radio
LA1353 loader with quick attach and 84 inch bucket
rear Wiper
air ride seat
3rd function valve
one lever quick attach valve on loader
Kubota shockless accumulator valve (KSR)
2 rear remotes
Tubes and fluid installed in tires

We got a 15% discount off MSRP. The best I could get him to come off. However, he picks up and delivers for free if he is in the area. Can not complain any about how they have treated us as customers in the past.

Pictures of the L5740 that we traded:

Here are a few pictures of the new tractor as she sits on the dealers lot:D:

Here is the Boss and CFO trying out her new toy:thumbsup::

I'll post a few more pictures when she gets to the house after they get all the stuff they had to order put on her.

NICE!

I really like the gated shifter and that "park" is on the same lever as the gears. I have seen more than one new operator try to put the old two lever set up in "park" while still in gear, one was actually successful (not on mine thankfully)! Ouch.

Congrats, that is a very nice tractor.

Thanks, my wife really liked it too. She found that releasing the parking brake system on the L5740 required a lot of leverage if I had set them all the way to the floor when I had used it.

Congratulations on your new tractor, we have an L5740HSTC as well as M8540HDC and really like both of them I am sure you will be very happy with the M9960. I really like the layout of the M9960 controls and I understand shifting is easier on it than the M95/8540; over all a very nice machine.

Wow. Quite a step up from an excellent machine to an outstanding machine.

I would have been temped to keep them both but that's just me. Like TripleR, it is nice to have the tractor to fit the job.

Getting 15% off MSRP is a premium deal for new. 12% to 13% is usually all one can get and that is rare.

Congratulations, that is one capable looking tractor.Very nice.

Congrats on the new tractor! Your one of many that seem to be upgrading from the CUT to a utility. What were your reasons for upgrading? Can't wait to see more pics of it in action, that is a really nice tractor!

Thank you, we will miss the l5740 for sure. I hope it is as reliable as the L5740.

Yes, it is a big jump from the Grand Series. I would have loved to have been able to have kept it, but it is just too small at times. We also just didn't have anymore room in the shop for another tractor with all the other junk we have in there.

I will certainly take pics of it in action. We have 123 acres. We have several acres that we have planted in pine. Some of it is being farmed. The rest we have to keep bush hogged. I plant several acres in sweet corn, and use a very heavy duty rth 88 inch tiller. We were always at the max end of what this tractor should be doing. It always did what we asked. Also, my wife's father has a lot of Ag implements that we can now use.

Also, I would have went with the m series when we bought the L5740 but my wife was intimidated of their size. More weight and pto horse power would have been better for us from the start. However, she wanted to be able to use it. She turned out to be the primary user. She does not let me get much seat time.

We would have gotten more tractor for not much more money either. The l5740 hst cab tractors come with a premium price in our area. However, it did serve her well.

Congratulations on the new M9960. We needed another tractor but just couldn't part with our L5740 because there are so many things the small tractor will do faster because of its nimble size. Our choice was to jump all the way to a M135GX. The decision came from all the other old timers around here like me trying to stave off boredom and so buying tractors and finding land to rent. Sure hope you enjoy your 9960 like I enjoy my 135.

That m135gx is my dream tractor. I know I'm sure going to miss the L5740 . I wish we could keep it. :(

Hi,
What is the name of the dealer you bought the M9960HDC24 from? I am in California and looking for a new one invoice this year 2015. I wonder if Tractors can be shipped to California without having to worry about emissions. But good choice on the M9960hdc24 congratulation.

Nice looking rig, can I ask what they gave you for the L5740. I have one that I need to figure the value on for KTAC insurance coverage.

Congrats!
