Stumbled across this in my shopnotes magazine. I used it to model a crib for my neice see thread here.

Very easy to use - I was productive after a couple hours using the tool (though I do have experience with CAD). Thought y'all might want to check it out - the price is right.

You can "share" your model via google's "3-D warehouse".

Maybe Muhammad can figure out how we can share models here.

Great minds think alike - some are quicker than others:eek: :D

Have you kept using it?

I have downloaded and have just started to learn how to use it. I need to move it over to my desktop to start with. I think that will be easier than on the laptop.

I have used it a bit. But I work on computers and try to get away from them during hobby time, so I have not spent that much time.
It is easy to get started, but I never took the time to get proficient enough for anything "fancy".
I having been apprenticing in the machine shop with my 80 yr old neighbor and value that time more than computer time.

Somehow making something out of alumnimum is more satisfying than skecthing.

I'll say - nice work. I'm assuming they are steam or sterling engines? What's the PTO HP:D :D ?

Off topic, but they are gasser's. Sometimes run'em with chainsaw mix.
They are of the hit and miss type. In case you are not familiar with them, they have no throttle. If you take a look at the firt pic you can see the "balls" in the flywheel, when the centrifugal force gets too great, the govenor "locks" the push rod to keep the exhaust valve open and stops gas from being drawn in.
These are scaled down version of what you might see at an antique power show. As to PTO HP never had one on a dyno but since the bore/stroke is similiar, it is comparable to a push lawnmower running really low RPM. 1HP is probably an overestimate. They can do "work", you may notice the brass water pump in the 1st pic.

I had downloaded Sketchup a long while ago, and my daughter (11) played with it so much the "time" ran out on it. How do you override that, or do you delete it then re-download it?

They made it free in June of this year, so if you downloaded before then, I would just delete it and download it again. There is no time limit that I am aware of in the current version.
