Saw this on Speedvisions "Two Guys Garage" show, or used to be Shadetree Mechanic, then Crank and Chrome? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Any who, they installed this cool gooseneck hitch, but doubles as a 5th wheel hitch too, just insert the 5th wheel companion and lock, no holes needed in bed for the 5th wheel rails.
Pretty neat /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Might have to get one since I don't have a gooseneck yet! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I use the B&W turnover ball. It's a great system. You do have the holes in your bed though for the system. You have a 4" hole in the middle of the bed and four 1/2" holes on either side of that.

I didn't know about the 4 holes on either side.
There website sure doesn't show any. Neither did the tv show drill any. I emailed the company, no response in two days now. (love that pr).

Can I ask what price did you pay for the gooseneck, it looks like its $200 for the gooseneck, and $500 for the 5th hitch.

Does anyone else have a gooseneck? and are there any preferences, or average price I'm should be looking at?

Thanks
John

Or the 4 holes for the 5th hitch setup.

I can guarantee you won't find one for $200. The cheapest I have ever seen them is $299, retail is $325, for the gooseneck part and then the 5th I believe you are right is $500.

cowboydoc: I've got that setup myself. Really spiffy. Flat bed when not towing, a few seconds to flip the ball for a gooseneck, and a bit longer to drop in the fifth wheel assembly when using that. Really like it. JEH

Re: Gooseneck and 5th Wheel all in one (no 5th hol

I also have the B&W Turnover 5th wheel ball mount, love it. If you are going to haul gravel in the truck bed, be sure to cover the hole, or you may have trouble getting the ball out the next time you go to use it. You have to cut a 4" hole in the bed along with drilling 4 holes for the safety chain u-bolts. I had to drill a hole in each side of the frame rail on my 89 Ford F350 to mount the hitch, Other than that it goes in fine. I don't have the 5th wheel hitch part, but have seen it. It attaches to the truck through the goose neck hitch hole.
