Gooseneck causes truck bounce?

I had this once with a 3 axle slew trailer behind my brothers Merc Vito van. We hauled a tractor from belgium, together with some implements that were so cheap that we couldnt resist to take them in the same bid. The expansion joint distance was similar to the trailer wheelbase, between the 1st axle and the tandem. When going over 50 km/h the trailer started to bounce, and at the towing speed limit of 80km/h the front axle would jump 8 inches above the road surface and the trailer frame would flex an inch or two....

Last year i've been there for work, hauling some 25" payloader rims from Michelin Belgium because the production department needed them fast. With a standard tandem and an Opel 3.5t van in front of it, i remembered this road from a few years back. There was a resonance in the van, but not as bad that the wheels lost contact with the road...

trailer shocks will help a great deal. At my previous job, we mounted shock as standard on every slew steered 2 or 3 axle trailer.

Now that sounds like a great idea. Anyone else have shocks on a trailer and how did it work for you?
