PS: It may be just me, but my Firefox browser has a problem with the plugins on the web site.

The Firefox site has fixes for plugin problems. I use Firefox with Windows 7 and so far haven't had any problem.

If you're looking for someone to "Test" your lock and template on an older Adam trailer, I would be happy to try it out for you!
I'll donate the labor if you donate the lock!!!!!

Does your trailer have the receiving tube with the set bolts that hold the coupler in place? You seem like an honest man to me. I would consider sending one over and if it works, and you like it, you can pay me for it after you give it a try.

Just curious is the brass tumbler drill proof? That is the first thing they are going to do to it.

Over the last few years, I have had 2 of them stolen. The coupler locks that are on the market are useless, because the thief can remove the coupler and put his own coupler in its place and take the trailer. Over the last 3 years, I have designed and patented a lock that deals with these issues. We expect to be in full production by the end of November. I want to invite everyone to check out GanderLock and give me your feedback.

Respectfully, that's a pretty elegant solution.

Why not just a locking pin to prevent removal of the coupler and then the normal type of coupler lock?

You wouldn't have to remove and store the coupler, pack tools with you, and you could leave the locking pin in place.

A coupler lock would work, but since the invention of the cordless angle grinder, what was once relatively secure, now can be easily cut.:(

once these start getting out on the market, someone in the "business" of stealing trailers, will more than likely come up with a hitch that has a larger tube than the one on the trailer, then all they have to do is slide it over the out side of the neck and a couple of pinch bolts and away they go.

Removing and storing the coupler is easy. I carry two box wrenches in the truck with me and keep the coupler in the tool box. You can see a demonstration video on the web site Home « GanderLock featuring a cute girl...my daughter....removing the coupler and replacing it with the lock and vice versa. It takes her less than 2 minutes to do the job.

I don't know about putting a larger pipe over the tube. Maybe for a short haul, but on my trailer, there isn't but about 2 inches of pipe below the main beams for it to grab ahold of. They would have to want that trailer really bad to take it that way.
