I think of it this way... the cats have "staff".

Just a tip -- when you use your gopher getter it works best if you only use it when there is moisture in the ground. We are all sand here. If you're in sand, it will not hold the shape of a tunnel if its too dry. I wait until after a rain and then do my poisoning.

No gophers here, but moles are a pest, and not only in woodlands.

I use a French explosive device - not sure if you get them in US - Piège à taupes et anti taupe - Détaupeur - Chasse, destruction taupes et rat taupier

Actually, they do not get blown up - the shockwave kills them - I used four charges to clear 1.25 acres this year - and have just noticed a mole in my beans so another charge has gone in there. I expect it will go off tonight some time.

I know of farmers who shoot moles - aparently they work on a four hour cycle - and if you anticipate you can be there when the next burrowing session begins.

We use the trusty .22 on our ground hogs.

.22 works pretty good for me also
