Actually I just put in the "I" for the benefit of foreigners; here, I'd just say "down the 15". As would everyone else.

Being from Michigan originally, I just try to speak in a manner intelligible to locals and pick up on the local parlance. For the same reason, my Spanish has improved considerably. :) Not a bad thing to acquire, especially if you're going to live here. Even more so, if you're going to be irrigating, landscaping, and growing.

Some well and septic details would be illuminating. It will be "totally awesome" if you have a decent well.

Thought: you might also want to start researching what kind of internet connections will be available there. The last thing I expected when moving from the 'burbs to the hills was no internet, but it took a lot of doing to come with an acceptable connection other than cell. Just 'cause it's CA doesn't mean you can take the web for granted.

You could sure have a great airgun range on that piece of property. You could probably have a decent mortar range, come to think of it, but there are probably ordinances against that.

PS: Just remembered, try to bring some decent gas can spouts with you for petrol and diesel. You can only get the special "no spill" approved spouts here which are terrible three-handed affairs that spill fuel like crazy. Load up your truck with 'em, you could probably make some pin money selling them to locals. A future generation of Kalifornians will never know that once you could gas up a tractor without spilling fuel all over, by just sticking a spout in a hole and paying attention.

Keep the brush down and flammable plantings away from the house. That's brush fire country.

Hey RobertN, been awhile since I got on TBN. Is Bird still around, obviously No Joy Joy Stick Inman is. I have moved once again and find myself almost on the shores of Folsom. My backyard backs up to the lake. Incredible view from my home. Got the house on a short sale. We took a bit of a beating on our old house in Granite Bay but then, so did the folks here in Loomis where we did the short sale. First time doing a short sale, lots of anxiety but it was worth it. Downsized from 10 acres to just 2 now. The OP home looks very nice, congrats to him.

Sorry for the delayed response.

Water is well and dep, HD water all the time this year.
Septic is some sort of commercial unit, takes in the house septic and it comes out clear water. Don't know too much about it.
We will be trying to keep everything low maintenance, minimum grass if any.
The area clear around the house is approx is like a foot ball field, enough room for the new shop and the new oi door kithen.

How in the world did I miss this thread? For 'out-of-towners' we say our place is in Temecula, though it is really about 20 miles SE in Aguanga.

And Daveshoot, where the heck are you? Until we get to move full-time to 'the ranch' we are in Scripps ... about 50 minutes south of Temecula down I-15, so we must be about 5 minutes away from you! Poway? Or east...

Scrambler82, we want to become your friends... that outdoor kitchen looks like it is going to cook up some incredible meals! :licking:

Have you actually made the move, are you full-time in Temecula now?
