4310 JD
Made a good deal on a 4310, but when I got it home today, I went to put the 72" mmm on and find that I am missing some brackets. Everything seams to be there except for some brackets that apparently bolt to sides of the front frame for the front mower bracket to attach to. Don't know why they would have been removed or what they should look like but something is not there. It will be after the holiday weekend now before I can call the dealer to see if they have them or not.
Can anyone post a pic or diagram from manual of what exactly I am missing? I have the adjustable arms that hook to the deck and curve upwards toward the front frame. Also have the piece that they swivel in that has a handle or lever on it with locking pin. Don't have what it connects to.
This tractor was on their lot since last summer and I doubt very much that they will find them, if they ever had them when they took it in on trade. I really need to get mowing and am willing to build my own brackets if I get an idea of what I need.
Would be greatfull for any help.
Thanks

Are there any JD dealers near you? you could potential get a look there, if no one sends you a pick of their set-up. If you would have sent this a week ago, I could have sent you pics of my former 4310, but it was traded in this week.

The dealers around me have little to nothing on their lots. Some have 1 or 2 new units but nothing with mmm. Everyone must want loaders instead. I had to go south of Omaha (135 mi) to find this one. Accually I found it on the internet but it was the only tractor in my price range. It's a 2003 4310 synco 2 wd with 515 hrs. 72" MMM included, and I got it for $8500. Had to spend another $82 for mower belt. It has a few small issues like-- something is wrong with the tillt steering (won't tilt) / one of the grab handles on the fender is broke / a flasher on one side don't work, probably a bulb cuz all the the lights flash when using that side turn signal / it's a little faded due to sitting out side and the front rims are showing some minor rust specks / and the missing brackets that should bolt to sides of front frame for mower mount.
I feel that I got a perty good deal, and he thew in a can of yellow spray paint for the rim touch up. The salesman was very curtious and made the transaction easy.

I have tried that site and not getting anywhere.
The only numbers on the deck are 72" 42/4410 and serial # MO4272X016106 The site keeps telling me that they are invalid numbers. Will keep trying and change zeros to Os and viceversa to see if it makes a dif.
For now, I have removed the front part from arms and have them bolted up inside the frame rails. It works but is not proper.
WOW!! what a change from the 23 yr old Massey 1020 iv'e used for the last 20 yrs. Do miss the hydro though. Don't know if it's an upgrade or standard seat, but that cushioned ride is nice too.

Looking up stuff on JDParts can be tedious at times! But I have it figured out pretty well...

In the search field, just type 72-that is the model #. Be sure to then select the right one, as that deck fits a lot of different machines.

If I understand you correctly these are the brackets your referring to.I have a brush guard that bolts over top of them that you may or may not have, and these are on a 4300 but I believe the 4310 is exactly the same.

I understand as I have had problems many times but I seem to have always, well almost always, :) been anble to find the parts I needed. I would visit my local Deere Dealer and see if they have one like yours on their lot or just ask the parts folks to look up the diagram in their system and make you a copy then you can use that to check the mower. You may see if they have a manual or you could order one.

Kenny-- thanks I'll keep tryin.
Lil43---- Perfect pics!!!! thanks
em14--- The dealer is sending me a manual, Didn't have any on hand and said will take around 10 days.
Will call first thing in the morning and see if they can find my brackets. If they can't, then I will ask if they will provide me with new ones. If I had paid more $$ for this tractor I would be more insistent but I really can't push too much. The belt covers were also gone and they robbed some from another deck for me. They could have easily told me that they didn't have any and I would have still bought the thing.
I have a dealer within 20 miles but they hardly have a single piece of equipment on their lot. I think when I get ready to buy filters and other parts, I will most likely order by phone from this dealer 135 miles away and just have them sent to me.
Everyone on here talks about how important the dealer can be and I would have to agree. This dealer was very pleasant to work with. My 2 local dealers make it seam like I'm an inconvenience to them.
Man, I like this tractor so far!!
