got my new bx2200!!

hey all,
just realized i really havent announced that i got my bx on the 6th. i have 14 hrs on it now and have put my tail between my legs on sunday when i cut thru the invisible fence wire in 4 places. forgot it was there. the ole lady wanted to to thin the hedgerow between us and the ole quaker cemetary. i have dug and moved and spread stone, mowed and last nite my buddy dropped off 10 yds of wood chips for the dogs pen. this machine is great and the first mod is im gonna make the ROPS into a folding one. that was the only prob. other than getting used to it the first few hours. im glad i went with my gut feeling after reading everyones posts about the bx because in my aplication it is better than the b7500. i love the low feeling when being on steep inclines. thanks to everyone for the posts and thanks to Muhammed for this site!! i even had my wife and the kids drive it. the kids are 7,8,11 and i just walked behind them. my son the 7 yr old said the first time he was ridding with me and the loader dug into the brush pile, "wow this is cool" . now i have some leverage, when they want rides, welp, its time to do yard work first, haha.

Congrats Rich ! Have fun and do LOTS of neat stuff with the BX. ( I'm supposed to put a new hardwood floor in our kitchen this weekend. . . .I'm working to see how I can utilize my B7300 and FEL in the task /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif . . . I think if in come in through the french doors and turn right, I can get past the microwave oven!)

Having lost a cousin to a tragic tractor accident many years ago, I hope you heed the warnings of those on this discussion. A compact tractor (or garden tractor for that matter) is not an ATV. Its designed for one operator and no riders. I realize the temptation of sitting a child on your lap and going for rides if great, I myself have four young daughters, but it only takes one fraction of a second for thing to go very wrong. A tractor operator can be the best there is and that still does not take into account equipment failure (broken linkage, stuck pedal, etc) or the acts of others. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

sorry to hear about your cousin. my first interest is safety. i always lecture the kids about tractor safety. when i ride them, which is only the younger 2, it is a totally controlled condition. diggin into the brush pile certainly isnt like i would do it alone. i gently pushed in and raised the bucket so he could see that the loader works like the skid loader. i had some close calls as a kid and remember one of my dads story of his mishap. again saftey is my first interest. as far as your floor project, at least the loader can be the wheelbarrow.

A well known and much liked and respected family lost their mother in a tractor roll over accident about a year ago here. These people were long time tractor users with huge acerage and years of experience--they were not beginners. I think it rolled over in a ditch or incline coming up from a ditch. I also recommend not riding children in your lap, in the bucket or any place like that. I should think a cart could be built for towing the kids safely. Use the safety features and do not think for one minute that the BX is a toy and that FEL is quite heavy and powerful, keep all your kids, wife and dogs away from it when you are working and swinging it about--tell them/warn them of the dangers. Not meaning to be a killjoy or overly dramatic. I am excited that you got the BX and are happy with it--told you. J
