Tractor
Kubota Grand L 5740, loaded R1's w/640 lbs cast weight, 854 loader
16 foot long, 83 inches wide, 14000# gooseneck dump.
I can load my box blade in front, my 3240 with fel and tiller behind that with the fel on the gooseneck, close the gates and haul butt.
works great but...
there is an issue with the trailer that I will write about next week. The manufacturer is taking care of me. I'll let everyone know what's up when this is all said and done.

Sounds like a good setup. We are looking for a 12 foot dump at the moment. What brand did you buy? So many choices!

mine is a Maxey out of Sumner tx. A decent trailer at a good price.

More info next week.
You will understand then.

Can you post pictures of tractor/trailer together?

I have a 16' Bri-Mar tandem dually that I picked up used. I had looked at a 20' PJ a few years back at the PA Farm Show and I really liked it but could not afford it at the time. The PJ had slide out ramps which would make it even a little more useable but my Bri-Mar does not. I don't know that they are available even. Of course, the height of the bed would be scary loading anyway.

Anyway, the 16' box is turning out to be a pretty good fit for my needs. It will hold far more bulk material than I can safely pull with my dually. The shorter overall trailer length makes it easy to access mill yards for sawdust or other farms for a load of hay, etc.

I'll post pics (if I can figure out how) next week.

QRTRHRS about the ramp height thing...
I'm used to loading on a low profile car hauler. Yes, it was spooky:eek: the first time I loaded my tractor in the dump.
As far as the volume and weight, besides the towing issues, unless you get a smaller trailer, every trailer I looked at could be loaded to the point that the hydraulics could not lift the bed to dump the load and they could be loaded beyond their rated GVRW really easily.
example...
My trailer loaded level with the sides (24") will hold 8.1 yards. The dirt I normally haul weighs 1500 to 2000 lbs per yd so I could easily put over 16000 lbs on the trailer with just a tiny bit of crowning of the material. The lifting capacity is 14000 so you can see how you could get into trouble. More importantly the gross weight of my trailer is 14000. I have to be careful and not get carried away loading it, but, I need the size to haul my tractor.
I would love to design and have someone build a trailer for me and then find someone to pay for it too. ;)

Zionview.
Yes there are lots of choices. I settled on this one because as I said, it's a good trailer at a fair price.
I wanted a tandem dual with the 30,000 lb lifting capacity but I couldn't afford it, among other things.

14k, 20 foot flatbed, I welded up the removable 18 inch sides. It's great for hauling debris/firewood, etc.
